White House Administration escalates war on U.S. News Network

Either way, the ratings system takes distribution into account..... so ur arguing a moot point.

FOX DOMINATES the market.... it is PLAIN. It is SIMPLE. It is WHY Obama is lowering his status to weigh in on the subject.

Nielsen creates a "sample audience" and then counts how many in that audience view each program. Nielsen then extrapolates from the sample and estimates the number of viewers in the entire population watching the show.

Pay attention and learn something.... If Nielsen wants to "meter" MSNBC...they set up a representative sample for that show and then meters it.

So it is possible to measure Fox directly against MsNbc. In your convoluted world, you think it's impossible to measure accurately. It's not... like I said....when big money is riding on it.... a methodology is found.... always.

It's how FOX can charge more per minute of commercial time.... the ratings system is intergal to the stations bottom line...... it's not a gray area.
Nielsen Television Ratings are gathered in one of two ways:
1. Viewer "diaries," in which a target audience self-records its viewing or listening habits. By targeting various demographics, the assembled statistical models provide a rendering of the audiences of any given show, network, and programming hour.
2. A more technologically sophisticated system uses Set Meters, which are small devices connected to televisions in selected homes. These devices gather the viewing habits of the home and transmit the information nightly to Nielsen through a "Home Unit" connected to a phone line. The technology-based home unit system is meant to allow market researchers to study television viewing habits on a minute to minute basis, seeing the exact moment viewers change channels or turn off their TV. In addition to set meters, individual viewer reporting devices, such as people meters, have allowed the company to separate household viewing information into various demographic groups, but so far Nielsen has refused to change its distribution of data of ethnic groups into subgroups, which could give more targeted information to networks and advertisers.

Now tell me how the phuck you see what you saying makes any sense to anyone but you ...If someone participates in the rating system using a set meter but only had basic comcast cable..how in the hell they are going to tell if they watched MSNBC when its not even in their channel line up..Goes back to my point that Fox is on your basic (standard) line up..MSNBC is not, so more people are able to see Fox then MSNBC...Now advertisers see that more people watch Fox because Fox has more exposure....Do you need me to post the Basic channel listing for all cable outlets so you can see how right I am..And they don't "meter" MSNBC or FOX...they meter what the person is watching...Now I hope you learned something, but you being "Cracker the Lollipop" I doubt it

Obama has become a dangerous embarrassment. The amount of back biting going on in the White House on down shows Obama is not in control at all. He's being handled, and handled badly.

Almost as if he was a nooby senator with no real experience....

Yes London, MSNBC probably does run around shouting that they can't really be measured in the ratings....

Like I have said repeatedly.... all of the shows are measured against each other.... news against news.... FOX dominates all of the competition..... distribution points are taken into allowance. It's not rocket science.... it is measurable... it is measured.

The American ppl prefer FOX News. That is what has Obama in a PANIC. You too I might add... u seem to be panicking.

but you still show no proof of how distribution points are taken into allowance....wow ..I guess that means that you can't ...Don't worry I already knew you couldn't, because they don't...Maybe you should stop watching Fox so much so you can learn something...

You want me to teach you sampling statistics online? I need not prove it to you. You could get off the couch and learn for yourself that the Nielsen rating system is accurate..... I mean duh. Why would it be used if the ratings were all off?

Over and over again, you show a lack of basic common sense. I mean.... really.

ROFL...everytime someone ask you for proof you do and say the same thing.....FRAUD ...dude do you even grow.....Cracker there is nothing you can teach me..unless its how to lie and talk bs about things I don't know..so you say Neilsen is accurate..here son read this

Nielsen ratings have always been an imperfect system of projecting who is watching what when. The advent of DVR technology and internet-streamed programming have made the television ratings game even more challenging. So the major TV companies -- General Electric's (NYSE: GE) NBC Universal, Time Warner (NYSE: TWX), News Corp. (NYSE: NWS), Viacom (NYSE: VIA), CBS Corp. (NYSE: CBS), and Walt Disney (NYSE: DIS) -- have teamed together to fight against Nielsen, which not only delivers arguably flawed data, but charges a hefty fee to do so.
Advertisers, meanwhile, are also hoping for a new solution to figuring out the best time slots to reach a captive audience. Procter & Gamble (NYSE: PG) and AT&T (NYSE: T) are already on board with the media giants to develop a better system that would measure viewership across multiple platforms. (Currently, Nielsen polls 18,000 homes and tracks their viewing habits via a special remote control)....

That does not mean that the ratings are not accurate enough to know who is dominating whom.

FOX is dominating all the other news agencies. The fact that after 3 pages, you are still in denial bodes to ur idiocy, not mine.

Today is Friday..... care to argue over that?

Can we move past the 3rd grade mentality and continue with serious discussion?

Or do I have to explain the basics of naming the days of the week and source each origin to ur satisfaction.

Now I know how the teacher feels having to stop every 30 seconds to explain it to the "slow" student.

I totally agree that MSNBC doesn't represent.... etc.

Let's just keep it in context. The entire trouble started when I merely pointed out that FOX dominates the news ratings across the board. Now this is NOT in dispute by anyone except LONDONFOG, who simply discounts anything which doesn't match his world view. No matter that MSNBC abides by the ratings... LONDONFOG doesn't!!! No siree, he knows BETTER!!

I made no comment on who represents who ... on either side ... but simply mentioning the OBVIOUS about the ratings is enough to set LONDONFOG off on a tangent... basically wasting everyone's time.

Don't get mad at me.... I accept obvious data placed in front of me. I use common sense. If FOX wasn't dominating the media competition... does anyone (besides LondonFog) think the govt. would be attacking them?? That makes sense.... doesn't it? Just plain non political sense..... not for LondonFog.

Like a super genius he is.

We all know CrackerJax never leaves his house.... I'll bet he's so defensive of the ratings system because he got suckered into being one of the Nielsen ratings box people. He probably thought it was a "work at home" opportunity, since Nielsen does pay the families who have the ratings boxes.
