I am working on it right now. Should have a batch complete by September. Gotta get my recipe figured out and the best method for incorporating. I do not want to waste 50 grams or so of cured bud.

if you boil the bud, it will denature the THC. warm water will not extract. a waste.

It will be the alcohol inside the already fermented beer that does the extracting. 9% ABV isn't really enough to get all the thc out so the leftovers will go into coconut oil.

The focus isn't only in THC though. I want the smells and flavors from the plant itself.

Hrmm I wonder if 9% will get anything, either. Do you mean you felt 0 stone? What was your process? If you wouldn't mind please share it over in my thread. I am going to unwatch this one.

if you are at 9% you arent making beer. You wont get those numbers using champagne yeast either

12-15% is usually where most beer yeasts crap out. Sometimes a freak strain will do over 20%, but that comes and goes every year, like every yeast. I made a mead once with a beer yeast that could do up to 25%. Champagne yeast is usually used to finish off what beer yeast couldn't when doing a high gravity brew.

It helps if you've actually brewed beer to know how it works.

Not really. I made that mead over 15 years ago. =)

Each strain has to be re-harvested every year from its native region. That's why sometimes you get a super strong, freak strain. This is also why particular years of wine are more desirable. It's due to the natural yeast in the grape skin that year. AFAIK, nobody has found a way to keep it from mutating in storage.

Nothing has really changed when it comes to yeast. It's a strange beast.

Sorry to sound dickish. I just love making beer.
