White Widow & Zkittles ILGM - Balcony Grow

I was gifted a few ILGM White Widow and Zkittles Auto seeds and figured I'd see how they would do on my small balcony.

I started these under a cheap KingLED 1000w in the garage and just put them out on my balcony. Two are doing much better than the rest but we'll see if the smaller ones catch up. Temps in the Bay Area, CA will be around 73/55ish this month. I'm keeping them out of the hottest sun until they harden a bit over the next few days.

I expect 8-9 hours of direct sun starting in the early AM. 5 gallon fabric pots, Happy Frog soil, have some Jacks 5-12-26 nutrients on the way. Should be an interesting project! I'll try to post one a week or so. :)

Here's another progress update. Been getting some cloudy days and low 50 degrees at night but the ladies don't seem to mind much. The smaller plants got a later start but are starting to perk up. We were getting 50-60 mph winds off the bay but the balcony walls provided some protection. I'm thinking the bigger ones will start showing preflowers soon. Zkittles bottom left, White Widow bottom right.

Thanks for looking!

Latest update. They are starting to flower and I’m hoping the stretch will be minimal. Some are definitely smaller than others but I suppose that’s the nature of autos. They are starting to be quite fragrant but I have a nice breeze being so close to the bay that should help keep the smell to a minimum. :)

Since your on the coast the breeze is quite consistent in direction?

Mind the smell will travel in that direction - so can place them far away as possible to limit smell getting out your property
Yeah, it’s legal here so it’s just a matter of not wanting to annoy neighbors mostly. I’ve smelled grow breezes in the neighborhood over the last few years so I’m likely surrounded by like minded individuals. The balcony is about 20’ up and I’ve only smelled on the ground below after watering and fussing with the plants.

I have two WW autos from ILGM currently in the outdoor garden. I am in zone 8b in USA for weather reference. Nothing but nice fluffy fox tails going on. Pretty disappointed at this point. Smell good and getting frosty, so that's a plus. Looks like butter or RSO for these. Have had good results from ILGM seeds and not really saying it is the seeds as this is 2 out of the pack. I have also noticed my local weather seems to be running about 6 weeks later than the calendar says so that is definitely a factor. Not calling these a bummer as I will use the flower, just won't be rolling it.

That’s a shame. My brother had a successful indoor WW grow with seeds from the same pack, I’m hoping for similar results.

Do you prefer the fabric over 5g plastic buckets? I like those bags, TBH I never knew they existed, but your plants look great! I had 3 autos growing and lost one in a transfer, bit she was stunted anyhow. I tried to nurse her, but she was a sad little plant and I think I lost her. But my other 2, GG and bubblegum are on day 13 outdoors from germination indoors for 4 days. It's my first grow, but I'm very OCD and have given my good girls a lot of love.

It's my first time growing in the fabric pots after seeing them on the forums. They seem to be decent and help avoid over watering from what I've read. I sprouted one seed and put it outside immediately. So far it doesn't seem to mind the cold nights here which get down to 55f or so.
