Yea hentai's alright but I find it hard to focus on what little plot there is because of the often graphic, drawn out, and just plain weird sex scenes.

When you see group of innocent people get munched by a demon or a school girl getting worked by a demon with a massive cock you cant really call it a cartoon anymore.

I dont really watch anime anymore but naruto and the ones they show on adult swim suck, theres like 2 mins of actual fighting and like 25 mins of talking on the battlefield, like thats actually gonna happen.

The only good animes in my opinion are the real samurai x (not the shitty one they showed on tv, the really bloody one) and death note

So this is from another thread but it has a lot of good shows worth mentioning

Anybody watch anime?

I'll list one that i've watched and want to watch.

Watched
---------
Serial Experiments Lain (Wow!?)

Ghost In The Shell (Masterpiece) (All Of Them)

Full Metal Alchemist

Bleach

Naruto

Samurai Champloo

Inyuasha

Spirited Away (Loved It)

Grave Of The Fireflies (Liked It, but don't know what is so great about it)

Lupin The 3rd

Ones that i want to watch
--------------------------
Neon Genesis Evangelion

Hellsing

Cowboy Bebop (Sad isn't it)

Elfen Lied

Death Note

Rurouni Kenshin

Ninja Scroll

and many more.
So I’m always really behind the curve when it comes to anime. Partially because I don’t spend much time keeping up with news but also because I’m very particular about the anime that I like.

Serial experiment lain: I haven’t finished this series yet. I have all but the last dvd and I’ve watched up to that point but It was a couple years ago so as far as I remember it was an interesting but really weird show, but I guess I never saw the climax.

Ghost in the shell: I’ve only seen the original movie. I thought it was an interesting idea and really well animated but I’m but the story was somewhat mediocre. Again it’s been a while so perhaps I should go back and watch it.

FMA: I really liked that show, but I’m not sure If I liked the ending. (without spoiling) The ending was open but not in the good way. It was just that annoying cliffhanger. Otherwise the rest of the show was great and for the most part pretty well animated.

Naruto: I’m talking about this first because I refuse to watch it. Of the few bits I’ve seen it seems like a really really bad version of dragonball z (which I hated). I’m not sure if I heard right but it’s supposed to be about a couple of kids running around calling themselves ninjas? That came off to me as a shameless play to an American base and doesn’t really make sense in Japanese culture. Ninjas are spies and assassins not these invincible heavy shock troops, that’s a samurai.

Bleach: I haven’t seen this, partially because the person that highly recommended it to me is a huge naruto fan. I know that seems shallow but there are other shows on my list that take higher priority.

Samurai Shamploo: I haven’t seen all of it but from what I have seen I thought it was amusing. The animation style is really unique and fluid.

Inuyasha: it was a female version of Dragonball z. although my ex-gf loved it so I’m ashamed to say that I’ve seen more than I care to admit.

Spirited away: It’s a miyazaki film, which means you know it’s got a high potential for being brilliant. Although I would have to say of his films my favorite are princess mononoke and nausicaa of the valley of the wind.

Grave of the Fireflies: I loved it. It is extremely depressing. Of the people I know who have watched it, the movie seems very polarizing. You either love it or hate it.

Lupin: I haven’t watched it.

Evengelion: It’s a great show but you have to get past the main character. He’s a whiny little bitch. He also likes to scream a lot. The few problems with the show are that there really isn’t a character you can get attached to and that the first 1/3 or so gets kind of formulaic. So of the characters the ones you can sort of get attached to don’t get a whole lot of screen time. The show revolves around shinji, who again is a whiny little bitch. As regards to the much controversial ending I will say this. The last two episodes in my opinion are good. However they are not necessary to understand the movies. The movies and last two episodes are essentially the same thing the difference is how they are done. The last two episodes are basically just inner monologs among the main characters. The movies are much more action orientated.

Hellsing: It’s a good comparably light hearted show. My one complaint is that in the intro to the show you see the chick in the aftermath of her going super badass on some group of people. In the story though she never does.(sorry for ruining it) it’s still a good show.

Bowboy bebop: it’s a good show but it’s been a long time since I’ve seen it and when I did it was not all at once so it’s fragmented in my memory. So I’m not going to say much on it.

Elfen lied: I’m going to save this for the end because I’m going to rant about it.

Deathnote: I’ve seen most of it but I’ve more or less stopped at what should be the logical conclusion. Other than that, it’s very emo-esque.

Rurouni kenshin: I haven’t seen the show but samurai x was fantastic so I’m giving thoughts to downloading it and watching it.

Ninja scroll: it’s a classic. It can come off as kinda mundane and cliche now because lots of shows have copied it but I still recommend it.
