halo. i am completely new to this website so i dont know if this is the right area of the site i should be in. but, i was wondering if someone could answer a question or 2 for me. i have two plants growing in my closet. 1. Blueberry/White Widow 2. Hash Spice. they are under a 400W hps light and i am feeding them organic nutrients. they are 1 month and 10 days old. i turned the lights to 12/12 5 days ago. they have been growing nicely so far with few probems. but i came home the other day and the blue widow plant top 4 inches of the stem was leaning over almost at a 90 degree angle! i tied it over night to a hook on the closet wall and untied it this morning and its fine again. does any 1 have any idea why this might have happened to my baby??? thanks for the replies

hello i am just in need of some quick guidance on mediums, soils.(although i think my system is hydroponic) and nutrients to grow my plants from seeds.
so.. here's what's going on..
i have bought off ebay, the atami wilma 8 pot system+the 1.2mx1.2mx2m mylar tents with ONE 600w lamp, i am planning to pop to my local seed store and get some seeds, since i have bought a hydroponics(?) system. for every gallon of water i put into the "resevoir" what else do i need to apply? and whats the best stuff? is it fox farm? however take into consideration i am from the uk, so the products can be bought on the net. ebay only unless its a .co.uk store, and i don't want a product that has £30 postage lol
and how many plants should i grow in my 8 pot atami system with 1 600w lamp, i can have less than 8 or more with a few soil grows, if need be i can even buy another lamp..?
what do i do!
also anything in general is wrong, tell me!

good seeds are dark and hard, they sometimes have stripes on them but IME this means nothing. bad seeds will pop if you squeeze them between your thumb and index finger
ok well i know nothing about that strain, but lets say its an indica. its not going to be ready 8 weeks after you plant the seed. it will be ready 8 weeks after its decided that its sexually mature and starts to go into the flowering stage. meaning it could veg for, say two to three weeks, making it a total of 10-11 weeks untill its ready for harvest

a good distance to have a male from your females? how about off of peurto rico? lol. sereously thouh pollen can tracel many miles so if you sont want your ladies to have seeds then you shoud stick to your usual polcy of burning the fucker.
the male wont produce any seeds of its own BTW, it has to polenate the female and she produces the seeds
i dont know where you live, but i doubt it unless temps usually stay over 90-100 degrees. plastic lid? like a humidity dome? scrap that POS because its not necisary and when you remove the dome your babies will stress and could die from the shock of going from high to low humidityHave my babies in a box with a plastic lid outside on a second story deck with no shade is this dangerous as far as too much heat? Should I have them inside next to a window?
Don't worry about where I have them they are in a no access area (private home, no stairs to deck and no neighbors).
not sure i understand... if you have good lighting stretching should not be an issue
thrips are creepy, not to mention resiliant. i would give them a strong doseing with neem oil 2-3 times a week and pray for the best. also your going to want to cover the top of your soil in a corse sand so that the eggs and larve cant grow up and come out of the soil

i cant immagine why it bent, but it seems to have taken care of its self, wiith a little assistance from you that is. people have done far worse things to plants and this is just a minor set back. my only fear is that it may have stressed your plant some and you may end up with a hermi

if you knew what you were doing or not, i would sugest starting with 3-4 plants and getting a feel for your system. if your unsure then you should stick to bagseed so you dont waste money on genetics, ya know

1) my leaves started point upwards. its really hot day today so my garage is like a sauna where my grow cabnet is .. its reaching like 38degress C in there around 100F? ive got the door open now with the light off. are they just trying to reduce surface area to take in less heat?
2) the bottom fan leaves turn yellow and die .? is this normal is the plant just using old leaves for nutrients ? or am i lacking somthing .
ive put them into plagron gromix soil last week, enough fertilzers to last at least 3 weeks it says on the bag?

you need to get them in a 85ºF climate. One step at a time. Its weird, if all the factors are good then you'll have a good lookin momma

yep you can transplant into cups any time, ant those temps sound OK, but see if you can lower them just a little some how
bag seed is exactly what it sounds like, seeds out of a bag of weed
yea sounds like heat stress, a good quickfix is to put some frozen bottles of water infront of a fan and have it blow cold air around the growspace
its normal for the first set of leafs to die off, but i dont know how many youve lost. it could be that your soil lacks nitrogen and your plant could need a little boost, or maybe for some reason(like Ph) the plant is blocking out nitrogen, im not sure

the soil said it should be packed with enough nutes for three weeks , so i should have guessed it had enough? it happened a few weeks ago ive taken off 2 sets of leaves ? but i though instead of cutting them off il let them fall off?

did you see what i sugested for freshsmoke about his heat problem? you could do that as a quickfix

i dont like to use soils with nutrients in it as it can be hard to judge when the plant needs what and how much to give it, plus, if the soil is old the nutrients could leave the soil sooner than you expect causing problems
and yea you can just let the leaf stay on the plant untill it dies or falls off; the plant will sap all of the nutes and sugars and energy out of these bottom leafs before moving on to the rest of the plant. you should find a way to give the plant a little nitrogen and see it that helps the plant. N is verry important in the veg stage
okay, well i don't know how you get them out a bag, must me missing something in my thoughts..

i know its a bit rank but i see that watering down urine is a good source of nitrogen? and its free do you know anything about this , im expectinh you dont

no i dont sugest hydro for a newbie grower, go soil its simpler and needs less equipment
and no you really cant grow on your typical roof and certainly not in a hydro system
i used sterilized animal urine in a mixture before and distilled it, but didnt think about how acidic it would be and i think it fucked my plants hard. be careful but it can be done. it would help to have a Ph test kit and Ph up and down
