sup guys i have another question for all you guru's im growing some plants indoors to place outside and i have them on 18-6 light and they look great little bushes but they are pretty compact their only bout 6 to 8 inches tall with bout 10 branch nodes (i also have some smaller ones which is why im asking this) if i switch the light to say 16-8 will they get taller for me and also stay in veg. state or would i be better off to just move lights further away?i haven't any experience growing with lights always did work outside just been shitty year so far trying to stay on schedule.

id like to thank all of you so far who have takin the time to reply to my questions even if they seemed silly to you all.finding this site was a godsend im still not very computer savvy yet though so im sorry for not knowing where the edit button is snow.MY BAD
Stay the course and they'll tall up here soon enough. They double in height during the first two weeks of flowering, at least, so it's okay to let them stay a little bushy.

Oh dude. I didn't mean you needed to get all that stuff. Just... That's what I'm using.
You can add together a lot of different things to get a system that suits a plant. What you choose is up to you.

Of all the things to keep around, you should get some pH down, some pro-tekt potassium silicate as a pH up, Cal-Mag plus to regulate your micro-nutrient levels, and some epsom salt.

These are pretty basic stuff most growers will use at one point or another. Maybe a lot, maybe a drop... but there's a place for each. I personally LOVE Liquid Karma. I don't know what it is about the stuff... It allows me to run very high level nutrients without the plant freaking out. Seems to keep things stable and just powering forward so long as I'm using it. I find that the more I use of this stuff, up to about 10ml per gallon, the better. It's like $20 to $25 per liter, so you should consider it with a grain of salt.

I'm buying it by the 2.5 gallon for $100 the next time around. But that's just me.

If you're looking for a good bloom booster aim for the lower concentration stuff. CannaBoost, Bloombastic, and Bud Factor X are in this family of exceptionally over-priced additives (about $80 per liter) that might have that extra little bit of impact to increase final weight and resin by maybe 15% or so. I don't know if it is really worth it for you to pick up one of those.

Focus on the basic stuff that will last that I listed above and try to keep the use of anything at the lowest suggested strength.

i see thanks man i appreciate ur help that opened my eyes a bit more and i will be sure to check most of it out seeing that today i have to order everything im going to be using this grow oh and i was thinkin of getin ph up ph down would the pro-tekt potassium silicate be in a sense more helpful to the plant than just a normal ph up?

Shit... A lot happened over night.

I have a question are the white things on the leaves crystals or some kind of mold? this is my first grow ever and I dont really know what to expect Please respond.
Those are Trichomes. They contain the Cannabinoid compounds you are looking for. That's the part of Marijuana that gets you high, and has a number of medicinal uses. The actual plant material, the flowers, don't actually get you high. It is these trichomes. The highest concentration of these "crystals" will be on the calyxes, the flowers, of the plant and this is what most people are smoking. The leaves which are trimmed off that contain trichomes can be used to make extracts like hash, keif, or butter.

As I understand it, the MG seed starting mix is primarily just peat moss. You can continue to use this mix, but it contains very little nutrition, and might become more and more acidic over time. I think you would be better suited with an Organic or Rose potting mix. Anything that says "Organic Soil Mix" on it is great. The Rose community has been growing flowers for dozens of years and as a result they get some of the best stuff around, so if you cannot find an organic potting mix then you'll want a Rose potting mix.

Figure, you're growing flowers, not vegetables. If you stick with the MG seed starting soil you'll want to keep a close eye on the pH and you'll probably want to use some kind of fertilizer. Composted Cow Manure tilled into the top inch of the soil (about 1/4 cup per gallon) with some Dolomite Garden Lime (1tsp per gallon) will provide a balanced array of NPK and micro nutrients, but I cannot guarantee success with that.

Can someone please answer the last couple questions I put on this thread

Sorry dude. I don't touch Autos. Seems like 75% of the Auto grows on this site are sickly, so rather than trying to assist everyone with there auto-flowering plants I'll say this. Do the research and keep everything right, temp, humidity, pH, etc. Grow them in organic soil and just water them properly. If you can do that then you only need to keep them alive for 70 days. If you are having a problem keeping a hardy plant alive for 70 days then return to the drawing board and do more research. Stop growing Autos!

The place where the stems touch can be an issue. Moisture can become trapped in there and create a place for mold to take hold. Also, you want some space between your buds so they can fill out properly.

I think rather than twist tying the branches together to get them closer to the light source you should probably add more light sources. Your plant is too big for the number of bulbs you have if you need to do this to get them some lighting. Another 2 bulbs/reflectors wouldn't cost you more than $15. Probably pay for itself with the extra few grams you'll get. Especially if twist tying causes mold and ruins the entire harvest.

you might want to start with telling people what problems your having,id say communication is your biggest problem right now.
I lol'd

Gotcha already homeboy.

i been in the flowering cycle for 5 weeks now but my plants didnt show sex until 2 weeks in so when should i count the flowering from a few leaves also are turning yellow any help will be much appreciated
Most breeders count from the 12/12 switch, but when they say 8 weeks... I think they really mean more like 60 days.

For you, just watch the trichomes when you see the swelling process is subsiding. When your trichomes are mostly cloudy, with little to no clear trichomes, then it is time to harvest. Time tables are handy but they are not the rule and every phenotype is going to have a different harvest window. Use your discretion in the matter. A 30x jeweler loop is great for getting a closer view of the trichomes.

That looks more like a nutrient burn or heat issue. Maybe temporary, maybe not. What are the temps?
