Why do people buy seeds?

Yeah. There a several cannabis clubs in CA. I have not inquired about seeds, but I have some cloned girls living and growing from one ofd those clubs. I even found out where they were by using the net. They are listed on the Marijuana Law Reform - NORML site.

i dont get why people need to know the name given by some fuckjob to the flower they are growing. you know much more about your girl by semlling her and caressing her than some stupid name tells you. just grow that shit and call it whatever you want.

yea i have not seen any seeds. but if your looking for a good strain its not a bad place to look. i just grow one of two clones i get from them into mothers.

Yeah. The pic by my username is from a SensiStar clone I got from a CA cannabis club. There is some VERY good quality mj around. I don't remember a more abundant time......

Finally, someone who agrees with me... seriously guys... there's only two classifications to weed indica & sativa

the rest is just names dealers make up and hype to sell it for 2-10x as much, i've smoked 40$ weed and i've smoke 4$ weed, the feeling is the same once you take out the stems and seeds.

the only time i buy seeds is when i get "bored" with my current strains, so i'll buy something new look for a good pheno, once i find the pheno i like(sometimes finding the pheno you like from a certain strain can get expensive!) i make her a "mother" keep her under 18/6 and clone the hell out of her.

If you can't tell the difference between quality weed and shit weed - carry on smoking the shit weed and leave the better stuff to those who appreciate it. Just because you can't be arsed to understand the differences in all the varieties out there and select one that appeals to you and grow it out, there are plenty of people who do appreciate the differences in strains and are willing to spend money on breeder seeds to get the quality they want.

Al, dude, are you kidding me? Like baby said, there is a HUGE differences with strains of weed. You have your regular crappy shit weed. We were forced into some of that recently when our dealer went AWOL. You needed about 8 hits and the high lasted about 1/2 hr to 45 mins and then that was followed by a headache. When we buy our usual stuff, we take 3 or 4 hits and the high lasts about 2 hours. No headache either. We were in California recently and had the pleasure of smoking the best shit we ever had. I think it was Cali Kush or something like that. I shit you not when I say the high would last us about 4 hours! Usually, if I toke and then eat, my buzz is mostly gone. With this shit we smoked, we'd get high, go out to dinner and drinks and still be high 2 hours later. The best shit I ever smoked, hands down. Now, if I can get me some of those seeds from that strain, I'll never ever purchase weed again. My goal is to be dealer-free and totally independent.

A) has only smoked shitty weed

B) needs to pick up a good book on plant(cannabis) genetics and breeding

c) are just being ignorant and must be a little kid or something

any connisuer knows there is a major difference in strains....MAJOR....even when you are growing one strain you will have differences in the individual plants of that same strain....Some better some worse.

If you don't know what good cannabis is just keep puffin the dirt......leave the dank for the pros........

it is of course true that different strains behave differently and give you a different high, but alot of what we call shwag, shit weed, was probably just grown badly, pollenated, and cured badly.

and possibly horrible genetics, and poor potency, you don't know and that's why people pay for Known good seeds from a reputable breeder, so you do know the genetics.

It's this simple, for people like myself, who spend up to a $500+ to set up a grow room, i'm not going to waste my time and money rasing a questionable plant, I am going to grow known genetics, a good strain, also I can choose a strain that fits my situation and the high I like.I look through strain guides and study the history of the strains I'm interested in, I read what other people have to say about the strain(like Jason King author of the Cannabible), when people buy good seeds they are not paying $ for the seeds, they are buying everything that goes with it, like the security of knowing you have a good chance of growing some killer weed as long as you do things right while rasing those beans.......

That's part of the equation, Wig. As someone once said, "you can't make chicken salad out of chicken shit". You may improve the quality of the smoke but each strain has an upper limit on how much THC it can produce. Shitty shwag seeds grown under the optimal conditions will only result in weed that has maybe a maximum THC potential of 8%. A seed like Mazar, for example, grown under the same conditions has a maximum THC potential of 19%. That's a huge difference. Doesn't matter how much $ you spend on upgrading the grow. Shit seeds will get you shitty weed.

You buy seeds for the same reason you buy the correct equipment and that is to get the best product you can for your time, effort, and RISK.

Be careful though...buying seeds is an ADDICTIVE hobby.

Everyones entitled to there own opinion, when my friends smoke me out and tell me "oh this shit is 'blah blah blah' it's awsome" or i smoke my regular shit, it all feels the same to me, I'm sure some plant have more or less THC in them but whatever, I'm to high to notice the difference so I'll stick with my free seeds instead of paying 80 bucks, you guys are welcome to pay a much as you want, if i had 80 bucks to blow on growing, I would probably buy HPS light & ballast. anyways, just my 2 cents

an 80$ HPS light would grow a lot better weed then 80$ seeds

the name of the seed has little or no effect on the THC% it's just a name for companies to stamp on seeds so you buy it from them. but that's my opinion we can debate forever.

Well see, you spent $500 on your grow room, if you spent all that money, you might as well buy $80 seeds, you probably have enough money to toss around anyways. but i believe buying another $80 worth of light would increase the quantity and quality of your weed, but if you want to know the name of the sweet leaf your smoking, you just have to ask yourself if it's worth it $80, to you it is, to me it isnt. simple as that, you not bad, im not good, it's just your opinion and that's cool
