u should do sum reading on cfls they r really helpful wen used right man the color they give off, with a mix of a couple of em makes plant thrive and really! colorful leaves and foliage all together

ya 2700k good guess lol. I was looking all over trying to find 6000k but the highest they had were only 2700k =( i thought i would be able to get 6000k no prob but oh well, ill look some more tommorow. hey can you give me your opinion, im going to order a 150 watt set up from htg supply, and there are two im trying to decide from. they both look good, but im not sure which one would be best for me, im thinking the floralux heres the link with the two i cant decide from :

It wasnt a guess they look red. but get the mini, i got it and it takes heat away from the ground and keeps it above your plants........here........


this pik is a few weeks old and damn my plants grew!! hahha havent looked at this since i took it! hahaa

nice picture lol, so u think i should go with the floralux mini?
do u have a fan in there? im thinking about also buying a 4" inline fan from them, but im not sure if i need it

an 8 inch 'turbo fan' hahaha it was like 20 bucks, i live in socal so it gets hottttt in the summer, so i put another ''cooling'' fan in there but only run it on hot fukin days! plus im on a second story, it HEATS UP in my room wen it does outside

So now i am still going to buy a 150 watt hps set up, but for now i have the 68 watt cfl, the 90 watt ufo, and i think its a 20 watt fluoro tube, so thats 178 watts and my plant still doesnt look too happy. Also i would love to sell my UFO to you man. I bought it for 144$ after shipping. Ive had it for about 2 weeks now, only been running 24/7 for 8 days now. I would be really happy to get 115$ back for it, if that sounds reasonable

Stubbornness - huh. You think me being innovative is stubbornness. Guys like you inspire me. Don't think I haven't read, and don't think I don't know that I'm choosing methods
slightly unorthodox.
Anyway, I'm glad I have your interest. Now only time will tell - and I will be honest enough to post it in my grow, if it all goes straight to hell. At least that would be something to laugh about.

Update, im really worried today, after i put that 68 watt cfl in there, and after lowering the ufo about 1-2 inchest from the plant, i think i might have given it too much light. This is what she looks like todat. There are 3 bright green spots on 1 big leaf and on the other big leaf half of it has turned a lighter green/yellow. So Can you tell if this is too much light?

Im using fox farm ocean forest. I just spoke with my dad and he thinks maybe too much watering or nuts?, but he is a rookie too so we arent sure.
I am about to go out of town and wont be back till tomorow night so i actually just watered it again today, i kinda am wishing i didnt water it now. But i think its kinda weird, the day after i put that cfl in there, now i have these spots...

mayb too close?? umm nutes sounds right! u feed it nutes already???

its a combination of a few things. ur light should be a lil closer, wind is good for it, and its pretty normal, i use a couple peices of quarter sized bark to hold em up, if i doesnt fix itself by another week, its also needs more nitrogen.good luck.

i stopped giving nut's like 4 days ago, i only watered it 2 times with nut's

thats yr problem most likely...these toddlers cant have energy drinks!!!!hahaha u MIGHT, not fer sure tho, wanna consider a flush, but it might b hard on em since they r soo small

ya i was giving them nuts as directed from the fox farm feeding schedule, but i decided there is prob enough nut's just in the soil, so ya its just been distilled water. So flushing meaning to basically drench it with water?
i g2g out of town now =( ill try and log back on later tonight and see whats up. Thnx for all thelp btw lol

i wouldnt use distilled. the water from tap has stuff in it u need. just let the water declorinate. set it out fer at least 24 hours

the problem is that u shouldnt be feeding your seedling any nutes at all for at least the first two to 3 weeks use plain tap water it contains all the dissolved solids the seedling needs to grow good, i would use a 4 by 4 rockwool for this time and transplant it in the soil after the 3 weeks, fox farm soil contains enough nutrients to feed for about a month so just use plain water then use nutes, if i were you id just start all over

HELLO SMOKERMORE! I can help yo have suffered exactly the same thing as you before. That hs been done to yor plant by the CFL being too close and burning the leafs. Or it is nutrient burn, but i think it is a CFL burn.

this has got to be the most tragic grow i have ever seen. do you have aquarium stores where you live? most stores do not carry 6500k cfls mainly due to the fact that almost all house lighting is done with 2700k as it is a warmer tone one of the few places you can find 6500k without fail is at aquarium stores becuase they are used to light fish tanks so try going to one of those they will say "daylight" in big letters on the box if they are the right kind but use bolth the 2700k and the 6500k at the same time as this gives a better full spectrum for your babby it is posible to grow big plants with cfls if you (1) keep them close to the plants and (2) use ALLOT of them one is not enough. I use nothing but cfls and I'm growing 12 plants verry sucsessfully using less than 250 watts of power. dont drown your plant if your going to do a flush just watter it with tap water for a few weeks and stop trying to fix it with nutriants your problem is light wavelength related its just not getting enough blue spectrum light most if not all of yours is orange/ red giviing it more nutes cant fix that
