Why not round?

The entire frame will be painted pvc pipe and fittings. I'm going to try different dome shapes for the ceiling. I'll have to be careful here, if too much light gets up there and the shape is to parabolic it could create the worst hot spot in the history of grow tents.

I thought about a stealth grow in a large barrel. plants don't grow square thats for sure. I say go for it. I saw square watermelons once.... easy to store in the fridge because the fridge is square. wouldn't light reflect more evenly in a round area? and all the good light reflectors are round not square.

Why are you so negative about this guys idea? Weed is a weed... it'll grow anywhere and with a little kindness it yields decently.
You ever think of putting a vertical light in there and maybe some t5's or something in the middle towards the bottom for extra light? I think it is worth the try... worse case scenario is you get some bud. No matter what you do you're gonna get some amount of bud... its kinda hard to kill a weed if you're giving it some good loven.

That's not true. The best reflectors are actually the ones that look like a circle cut in half and bent open, imo.

I intend to go for it, but even at a total materials cost of under fifty bucks it's going to be a while before I can afford to do it.
Hopefully this thread will generate some more interest and encourage some more positive input. Either way I'll post any info updates right here.

And even then, you'll want a ceiling that is flat. A dome ceiling is going to dramatically drop as it approaches the walls.
This idea just does not add up. I half expected this thread to be abandoned by the poster and it looks as though they have. No one stroked his ego hard enough.

The reflectors that are used for vertical lights are cones, why is flat better?

I dig your groove......i bet a 1000 watter inside a 7-8 ft round tent mounted in the center would do good .....but plants on the outer rim of the grow will have to be small.
If you want a uniformed growth cycle ...all plants start and finish at the same time.... you would be limited as to the amount of plants
A 8 ft round tent versus a 8 ft square room ....you can get more plants of the same size... lets say 4 ft tall... into the square room.
On the other hand ....if you grew small plants lets say a indica strain like purple kush....vegged and flowered them in 6 inch cups... a round tent would be excellent
................................In the end... a square room the same size as a round one...which one do you think will produce more? .....................................
The 4 ft tall plants are in 10 inch potters... every 2 ft theres a potter....lets say 16 plants @ 4 oz a plant... 4 lbs....1792 gs
Those 6 inch cups produce 10 gs...you need 179.... 6 inch cups in that round room to produce the same amount if you averaged 10gs a cup...and thats not possible....meaning 179... wont fit in that size of a round area

To get the same sq footage as a SQUARE TENT the ROUND TENT will have to be bigger.... thats what I mean.... a 8 ft square tent has more room... than a 8 ft round tent
You cant put a 4 ft tall plant on the outer rim of a round tent
I can verify that i grow 3 1/2 ft tall plants that produce 6 oz on them...that same strain in a cup produces between 7-10gs a cup

Let's make this a little simpler. When you say "an 8 ft. round tent" do you mean 8 ft. in diameter or eight feet in circumference?
And when you say "an 8 ft. square tent" do you mean a square tent, 8 ft. on a side; (i.e. 64 sq./ft.), or do you mean an 8 sq./ft. tent with four corners of ninety degrees and four sides of equal length?
