Seems like a step in the right direction at least. With almost half the states accepting medical now, it seems like its only a matter of time.
If you love this plant, you should want it legalized period. People need to stop being put in jail over a plant.
I certainly don't want to see big business take over, abuse and regulate cannabis, but saying you don't want it legalized is really a discrace.

Not an uncommon desire amongst growers. Without mj being illegal, prices crash and big business gets into the game.

Oh I've watched that bad attitude for the last 6 years on here. I feel the same now as i did back in 08 when I joined RIU.
That is a bad attitude for any Cannabis enthusiast to have. Its fueled by greed rather then by love. Greed is why cannabis is illegal in the first place. Love will be the only way to change that. I'm a grower and I would much rather not have to worry about getting arrested then make a little more profit. Even if its legalized the market will not disappear, and the prices aren't gonna just drop. CO is a perfect example of that, from my understanding prices have not dropped.

I realize this article is about states passing med laws, and that it would still be illegal at a fed level.
Yes ideally fed legalization would be the dream, in the mean time I'll take every good step along the way. Almost half of the country has passed medical laws in the last 15 years or so, that is a step in the right direction.
I'm not ignorant to the situation. I realize if it gets legalized federally they will most likely make all kinds of regulations which keep it illegal for us to grow. It would still be a step in the right direction I think. It would be just like moonshine, highly illegal to make or sell but still available at a premium.
I still have never seen and arguement against legalization that wasn't squarely rooted in greed.

You keep doing what your doing Commander Strax! I just offered a counterpoint to the legalization greed argument. Most people that slam legalization seem to be for profit growers and not those that grow for personal use or share for free. So I just responded to a ridiculous statement with the equally ridiculous inverse of that thought.. I don't think greed really is playing any favorites on either side of this debate, there will always be people focused on money and protecting their own.

I think that one of the groups that defeated the legalization in California was the dispensaries and the Doctors, so you are absolutely right

I think strax was just pointing out that legal or not us growers will still grow Tiger. What you are saying is exactly my point about greed.
My girls I don't see how wanting it legalized is greedy. Is it greedy to want to feel more security in my own home, and not feel like life as I know it could end from a simple police visit. Is it greedy to want to see the people in jails for simple cannabis possesion released rather then taken advantage of. Is it greedy to want to see the sick have better/easier access to a medicine which helps so many.
On that note I also don't think its greedy for people to want to make some money off their work with this plant. I'm not endorsing huge price tags or people getting rich at others expense, but just like any other business people deserve to earn a living.
