Whocares -well the dinafem tin did great for the cheese seeds, the bagseed I had when they sprouted I put them in Jiffy pots and into the hydro tank till they had roots, then to solo cups whit hempy/soil, not much then into hempy buckets...
I have a strange idea. I mentioned before how diatomaceous earth is good for root bound bugs but in soil I let it sit on top. BUT for the sake of the hempy world, lets take a portion of water, say a quart or whatever and mix some dry DE directly into it. I'd say maybe a tablespoon to a quart. Ph the solution for safety and water it into the hempy. Give it a day or so and flush it through with fresh nutes again. Shit it may work? DE is OMRI listed and "shouldn't" pose a problem IMO. But hey I'm just thinking out loud here do so at your own risk!Well I set my timers to 12/12. I still have a small amount of aphids. Have predator nematodes coming which i hope will keep numbers low through harvest. Also going to put up some fly stickies and prob use some hotshot strips. My seed plants are 3 months old and quite ready to flower and my cuttings were tiny to start but have hada three week veg. All pots have roots in reservoir and quite frankly its going to be a fucking jungle....especially with the blue dream pheno seed plants...maui wowie x dream...yikes! They are really greening up much nicer now that i have aphids knocked back and i switched from powder maxibloom and am using all 3 parts of GH liquid nutes micro bloom and grow. I would have liked to give them a few more weeks to get real healthy but im running out of good smoke and the plants are big.
Pics soon.
To completely eradicate my aphids I may end up doing an NFT run after this crop from clean cuttings (nft is my strong point) I will make sure to bring in some perlite hempys though so i can keep posting here lol!
I regularly use DE Sprinkled around my Grow Room and vent ports of the Room as well. Good stuff as far as I can tell.I have a strange idea. edit: I don't have any bugs to try it on, but I will mix a batch up just to see what it does to the ph. Ill get back to ya's later
Worth a try and a good idea! How the heck do i delete pics? I was posting very stoned and slightly drunk at 4 am lol.I have a strange idea. I understand the desire to go organic, though something you might think about as your mix has had no time to break things down. Much like a compost and soil. I would go with your list and make a tea with most of the items. This might make it not so hot on nutes as you have some strong stuff in your coco alone.Ok, I'm interested in seeing if I can build a CoCo Hempy with all organics and feed nothing but water seaweed extract and Molasses
I'm not prepared to buy anything I don't already have but fortunately I have a few 'ingredients' in the cupboard. Also, all of my proportions are going to be guess work but I'll note them all down and post here incase it works well. Basically, I'll measure them out and shake them all together in a plastic bag. The GDP clone is already waiting to go so I better get busy.
Substrate -
'Atami' CoCo Substrate (12-14-24)
'Bio-Bizz' Worm Humus
Seaweed Powder (0.5-2-0) Red Algae
Palm tree ashes (0-3-14)
Fish Powder (4-5-1)
Bat guano (3-15-4)
Epsom Salts
Hydroton in res
Feed -
Water
Maxi-Crop Seaweed Extract
Molasses
I am concerned it may be too hot. but these organics break down at different rates and im trying to figure out in what proportions I should use to make up this thing.I understand the desire to go organic, though something you might think about as your mix has had no time to break things down. I'm smoking some Royal Cheese that I grew in Mapito. Now it may well have been my nute regime but I don't think it tastes as nice as the tester I grew in soil. If I can get this to work it may be interesting.I'm curious for you to do a run with some organics versus chemical's. I have been debating on doing the same thing but just using GH Bio line and seeing if there was any noticable taste difference.
Then I see your post and you had the same idea I was thinking of making a super coco mix. lol. I'm just in it for the taste so I'll be curious to see your results.
I have poured salt on slug to get them off of garden plants...lol. I would calculate based on the mix of super soil as to how much you intend to use for your pot. This would mean alot of small measurements and a quick mix. I applaude your thinking but again I go back to the additives having a chance to break down so that the plant will get to use them when needed, hence the tea approach. I have seen a grow done with organic teas in coco, it works, as well others with commercial organic nutes.I am concerned it may be too hot. but these organics break down at different rates and im trying to figure out in what proportions I should use to make up this thing.
I should add I'm not going organic. Tonight I'm transplanting 50-60 2L Hempys into Mapito and I'll feed them the GH Flora line up with Big Bud additive.
This 2L organic CoCo is a one-off. inspired by subcools supersoil. I'm expecting failure but want to see what happens, like pouring salt on a slug*.
*(I wouldn't actually do that)
I have no doubt Teas would work in CoCo. I have this stuff left over from my organic soil days, Ive made all sorts of aerated tea before and think they're great, just not this time.I have poured salt on slug to get them off of garden plants...lol.
