What size light and what size container did you use? Those plants look pretty damn big man. The buds on that WW are especially nice.
They are in 3 gal buckets, under 1 hood with 2 400w cmh bulbs, and the fertilizer cost $0.70/plant.

I curse your neighbor Moeb! May her fat, flabby tittys reach her ankles. What, too late?

Seriously though, why are people so fucked up? My neighbor drinks himself near blind every night, and once or twice a month like clockwork, he and his drunk ass old lady proceed to torture the neighborhood with their late night screaming and breaking shit. Yet these same worthless ass people called the police on me when I had some friends set up a few tents and a camper in my yard one weekend. I try to never involve LEO in any part of my life if avoidable, but I now call on this douchebag, if I even hear so much as a door slam over there. His stupid ass got arrested for domestic violence a while back (I don't feel sorry for her, she is as much the problem as he his), and it has been relatively quiet recently.

Even though 90% of cannabis users are respectful, responsible smokers, there is always a group of people that would risk someone else's freedom, marriage, children, livelihood, etc., for something that in no way hurts of effects them. Thankfully I now have my medical card and can tell these people to fuck off. Hope your situation works out Moeb, you have a tough decision to make, but in the end freedom is the only viable outcome, so monitor closely and trust your instincts. Remember it takes only a few months to harvest a new crop, much longer than that if you have to wait for your release date. Good luck man.

I know dude. I'm still thinking. ... What I never told you guys is that she (Neighbour) is a Dr of Law. A real swat, and a nosy bitch to boot. She likes quiet, so I got rid of my stereo because I didn't want to upset her with my RAP MUSIC. LOL. If she makes me have to give up this grow, she'll get a taste of the most ignorant obnoxious hiphop I can find. ... as long as I play in day-time hours Im cool.

You talk a lot of sense. +REP (when they let me)

edit:
The stress of this has taken a bit of the fun out and my garden is suffering. Ive not watered the mothers for a couple of days and I have 50 fully clones waiting for buckets. ... I'm going to do some maintainance today but I'm scared. ... If I am raided, it will be early this week between 5am-7.30am. That's how the babylon roll around these ends.

I've been using hempy buckets for a couple of years now, they're great for a lazy small scale grower like me:-P

I use coco fiber instead of perlite/perlite mixes, as it holds water better than perlite and is much easier to deal with. No perlite dust clouds, and used coco is easy to dispose of. I like to grow somewhat larger plants, so I use 3 gallon buckets and end up watering every third day. I get good results with minimum effort with hempy buckets, and it's a cheap setup in terms of materials.

I maintain a grow thread @ Opengrow in the Hydro section if you're interested in seeing my results. I thought about maintaining a thread here...but that's as far as it got. I'm lazy, remember?

Oh nice Feroce. ... CoCo fibre is the one substrate I havent tried but I know peeps get good results with them. It would be great if you could post a pic or two here on the W.O.H thread.

re; Perlite dust clouds. I rinse my Perlite (and vermiculite) before use so don't really have a problem with that... I agree Perlite can be fiddly to work with.

Edit: I remember I have used Coco in the past but as part of a soil mix.

Pics, sure. Let's see...5 Lady Cane (SSH x G13) plants in veg, in some 2 gallon wastebaskets I got for a buck each. Second pic is of a Lemonberry (Dabney Blue x Lemon Thai) back-crossed to a Lemon Thai male. About 3 weeks from finish. I use kind of a funky lighting setup, I have a dual-bulb air-cooled hood, and I use 600w of 4k MH and 400w HPS bulbs.

Edit: Lady Cane plants are under 324w of T5 bulbs, six tube, 4 foot fixture.

Super Silver Haze and G13 Haze are both delicious strains. I know them both well. Lady Cane is new to me but sounds awesome. Who's the breeder?
That Lemonberry looks great too. I love making hash from Lemon strains as it often passes on the limonene molecule responsible for that distinctive taste.

 +REP for the pics

Moebius,

Just caught up after a weekend outing...

All this trouble because of spliffs? If you're going to keep at it, definately consider getting a vaporizer-- no smell= no cranky neighbor.

E$kob@r is the breeder of Lady Cane, and they're sold through Sannies Shop...when they're in stock, which they aren't right now:-(
My beans are from an order a couple of years back. E$ko says they will be back in stock soon...but he's been saying that for a while now.

Moebius I was looking at your last photos, and it brought some questions to mind.

Now I know that the strain makes a huge difference in the 12/12 from clone gig.

How long is a grow cycle? I'm sure it's longer than 8wks as is for a fully vegged plant that takes 8wks after the flip

Height - I'm sure this is strictly strain related, but your photos show plants I'm guessing are about 16" to 20". Will topping & training keep a girl stubby?

Yield with the 2L I remember early in the thread you mentioned 14 g or so. And I read several other threads on different sites and it seems that 1/2 oz / 2L seems to be about par. Mine were let to grow wild and are 5 to 7 ft long, but looking at the buds building I know there won't be oz/plant there. Probably closer to a 1/2. I'm beginning to believe that the 1 oz yield 2L hempy is unattainable.

Last do you have any recommendations on the type of strain to look for to use in a 2L SoG

I'd like to hear from others who have finished 2L's also.

Very true .. Most Canna strains behave really different some will show early flowers in 2 days, while some will take 2 weeks. Some will stretch, while some will remain short and stubby.

How long is a grow cycle? I'm sure it's longer than 8wks as is for a fully vegged plant that takes 8wks after the flip
A growth cycle is the Veg time = Flower time. .... The VK I was growing was a 8-9 week finisher. That's 8-9 weeks in my 12/12 room .

Height - I'm sure this is strictly strain related, but your photos show plants I'm guessing are about 16" to 20". Will topping & training keep a girl stubby?
My last run turned out quite short. I didn't measure them but no more than 16". I got a few things wrong this run, I should have taken BIGGER clones. The BIGGER clones develop better roots in my cloner. My aerocloner provides the Clone stem with plenty of moisture so the clones never wilt, BIG clones in a regular propagator may wilt, I would mist them in the first few hours.

The BIG clones is only half the story. If you were to take a BIG G13 Haze with a 11 week flower time or a stretchy 9-10 week Lemon Skunk they may end up too BIG. As you correctly say, strain is all important.

Yield with the 2L I remember early in the thread you mentioned 14 g or so. And I read several other threads on different sites and it seems that 1/2 oz / 2L seems to be about par. I wouldnt say unattainable, just difficult. I would be happy at 15-16g but I'm about doing high number of plants and thats the only way this style of growing in 2L bottles is worth it IMO

Again, some strains like BIG BUD or AK47 are heavy yielders im not happy with the taste.

Last do you have any recommendations on the type of strain to look for to use in a 2L SoG
Its all about what you want to smoke or sell. ... Some really tasty plants can be tricky to grow or tricky to find a nice pheno. My favourite tasting and best looking buds I have come across was the Lemon Skunk from GH Seeds. It was so sweet and greasy. You touch it and your hands is oily. The crystals were so big and gleeming.... However you need at least 5 seeds to find a good pheno and its very lanky.

Circumstances have interrupted my chance to try Lemon Skunk in hempy but I did find it produces far less branches/clones than other strains.

G13 looks like a goer. And I know of a thread where the dude does Mosca's C99 BX1 with amazing results.

Thanks for the info Moebius. So your saying that it doesn't take much more time at all to finish even without a veg, this is good news.

I'm going to try a few of my Maui-Wowie if they get out of control like my other 2L's I'll shut em down right off the bat.

error in my last post. I meant Grow cycle = Veg time + Flower time. You probably figured that out.

In my experience, turning a clone to flower immediately does not extend its finishing time. Its the same as seeded plants.

When you say shut them down, I hope you don't mean bin them. If they get outta control you can bend the stems. ... if you ever have to pull a flowering plant, stick it in a jar and put in the freezer to make hash later.

I only have done one 2L hempy in the past. It was 12/12 fs with bagseed and 4 of 5 were very sativa dom and sativa plants just don't respond to 12/12 the same and they don't like the small containers. In my opinion, with minimal experience, I would think a strain well suited to this grow style would be a fast finishing indica. I am going to be trying nirvana's Papaya this way next. From clone I don't think the flowering time gets any longer because the clone is technically already very mature, due to it's lifetime in veg on the mother. From seed though an 8 week strain won't finish in 8 weeks. It has to start flowering first, and that could take from 10 days to 6 weeks depending on the strain. The sativas will take a long time to start flowering even if you go 12/12 from seed because they are naturally from areas close to the equator, where the days are near 12/12 year round.

I'm currently trying to finish my 1st 2L experiment, and they all were equatorial sativa dom strains. One strain didn't even show sex until 56 days 12/12.

So Moe by shut em down I do mean throw them out, not going to deal with the 7 footer in a 2L again.

If your interested I put together a blog of my trials this past spring & summer. There are a couple of photos of the beanstalks in there.

After my 2L attempt, I went with a more traditional bagseed grow. I started them in 16oz cups and went up to 2 gallon grow bags and then switched to 12/12. When I made the switch, I started several more plants in 16oz cups to go 12/12 from seed. The ones that I had vegged seemed more indica, and the ones that I did 12/12 fs quickly showed themselves to be sativa dom plants. As my vegged out plants showed sex, 3 of 4 turned out to be males, so I trashed them and I picked my best 12/12 plants and potted them up to the 2 gallon bags. I threw away everything else that was in a cup. It took well over a month for the sativa plants to start showing sex. They all outgrew the plant that I vegged for a month and when it finished they looked like they still had 7-9 weeks left. Eventually, the major heat wave of the summer pushed me to throwing all the plants away because they looked like shit, but I was able to learn a few things from the experience. It's not that sativa plants don't do well in 12/12, before the heat wave they were actually thriving and it probably feels more natural to the plant. They're just not meant for a small plant sea of green style grow. They need space for their roots and they are stretchy by nature and must be allowed to do as they like. If you want to keep them short you just have to train/top the hell out of them. It seems like sativas will flower when they decide they're ready, so we shouldn't run them 12/12 from seed and expect a faster grow. As I said before though, I think 12/12 from clone is a different scenario and "smaller" sativas can be achieved.

I've also found a container that I will be using instead of 2L bottles. I work at a restaurant and all of our detergents and cleaners come in the same 1 gallon likbottle. I've been bringing them home and cutting the tops and cleaning them out. After I cut them to below the handle, the bottle is only slightly shorter than a 2L with the top cut off, but they have a much larger diameter. I'll be running slightly less plants, but I figure they have nearly twice the space for their roots, and so I'm expecting better yields per plant and hopefully per square foot. I've also decided against going 12/12 directly from seed. I am going to let them get established under 18/6, at least until they are past that "seedling" stage. Once the plants have 5 or 6 healthy nodes I will put them into flower. This should only take 2 or 3 weeks but I think it could go as far as to double my yeild. I feel that plants, particularly plants that respond quickly to a 12/12 photoperiod, waste that boost of energy responsible for the "stretch" in the beginning of flowering on getting themselves established. If I let the plant grow up a little bit before hitting it with 12/12 lighting, it can take that energy and use it to fill out better and prepare itself to hold heavier buds. This is all speculation, but I should have this shit started by Saturday. I'm sure I'll do a journal with it, but I'll update here along the way too. I've got a 250 HPS/MH, using dyna-gro, and growing some plants in perlite/vermiculite and some in coco for a comparison. I'm thinking 9 plants will fit nicely under the 250 in the containers that I've got. Sorry for rambling, feeling very energetic tonight after a slow day at work. O and the whole point of this post was the containers I found, I said I get them from work which is great because this way they are free for me, but the same exact shaped bottle is used for distilled white vinegar and it cost about 1.50 a bottle. The only container I found that seemed more spacious was a 1 gallon Hawaiian punch container that only needed the tip top cut off, leaving practically a full gallon container in it's wake. These are almost 3 bucks a piece though, so unless you love hawaiian punch, it's not necessarily economical. Plastic grow pots can be found at the same price.

9 plants sounds like a good crop. Especially if you give them some veg-time.

It would be funny to grow the Canna strain 'Hawaiian Punch' in a Hawaiian Punch container. but eeewww Detergents and Cleaners ? I suppose its not as bad as it sounds.

Sounds like your making it happen dude. Nice.

Thank you Moebius, I'm getting really excited as I get closer to my days off where I can give this project the time it needs to get going. The various contents of the bottles from work are dish soap, oven cleaner, degreaser, and bleach. I cut the bottles at work rinse them thoroughly with an awesome over head hose, hand wash them, rinse them again, put them in an industrial dish washer with sanitizing liquids, and rinse them again. We use all these things on the dishes, food storage containers, and the flat iron grill top, and I've used them to clean out bowls before, so I think they rinse off safely and the plants will be safe. Either way I have tried to collect mostly dish detergent bottles, and if I can get 9 of them before I get to that stage of the grow (probably a week before I decide to flip the lights) then I will just recycle the other bottles.
