World Of Hempy

Alright Moe I'll try the marime goop. It's just weird I had no problems with either cloner till the last two batches of clones I've ran through both cloners. I know those moms are so hugh that I have to basically clear cut the tops of each of them every two weeks or so just to keep them under the lights! I think I will tear the whole thing down and try again. P3270195.JPG

Oh ...well .... if you never had a problem before with the same cloner and moms ... I dunno.

but then again, it could be the glue beginning to break down. .. The stuff does seem to yellow after a while. You'll figure it.

(my bet is still with the glue)

Well interesting reading here today, Which raises some questions for me.

I got a PH meter this week, stuck it in some tapwater and it came out at 6-7 I let the meter sit till it stopped moving...Well the other night I left the meter in a gallon jug and when I found it the next morning, the PH was down to like 4, does it evaporate? and can I trust my tapwater or should it sit and breathe?

Oh yes Clones....I think I have found some mothers...Some of the bagseed is looking good, I have a few female cheese plants and they rock...Still trying to figure this out. Anyway will bigger clones make bigger plants? Or will the plant stay the size of the Mother? I'm kinda liking some of the bagseed plants as short Hempys, I was training them, but I think the next bunch I'll let go straight up, because they are not big plants now in week 5 of flower. I need the shorter plants and I think I'll try a few...What size clones should I use, so far most of my clones have been slow to develop as they are tops...so no real growth with them yet.

Also I use RO water because my well water runs almost 800 ppm. Moe are you defoilating still or not. If so when and how much do you remove?
I've never really stuck with the double defoliation like 420fied and others do. I have in the past removed damaged leaf but since making changes i.e my series of fans going + dialled in feed + NO pH down policy I don't really get any 'sick' leaf now. (at least with the GDP i'm growing, the R.Cheese needed more love.)

My instincts prevents me from doing the defoliating thing. I just don't understand how they will transpire without the leaf. Maybe I need to read more on this.

... OK .. Well water ... ; hows about a half and half for your cloner. They do like some minerals.

Whats happening is that overnight CO2 from the atmosphere is absorbed by your standing water, it forms Carbonic acid with the Hydrogen in the water and the pH is lowered. The Oxygen is vaped off. .... If you want it to breathe you need to add an airstone/pump.

re clones: The clones will 'generally' produce the same plant as Mom. Eventually with enough veg-time they should catch up. A decent sized clone is always better IMO but needs either Aero's or really humid domes.

So the meter was right, I'm better off with tapwater from the well, but what about the PH reading, what should it be? And does that mean never sit with chemicals in gallons?
Sometimes I have tops on them, sometimes I don't.

@ greenwarrior321.......... When I look at your ill clones it's looks to me to be more of a rot than a def. So I'm thinking more of a fungus or bacteria.

This is why I gave up on active hydro, after several grows my bubble lines and pumps were just transferring disease.

If I were you I'd rip out all the plumbing and redo new, and bleach out the tub real good and make new clone holder rings.

All it takes is a little root rot and the shit will get in the hoses, pumps, tub, and nozzles, and during the down time if kept moist it will grow into a science project.

Also great lookin' moms, I'd like to have one of those for an outdoor finish this season.

In addition to the absorbtion of CO2. .. Bare in mind the meter is only as good as the calibration and storage. .. Do you have 2 calibration fluids pH4 an pH7?
When storing mine I filled the cap with a little tap water but others use 'storage solution'.

Thanks Moe! I'll try the 1/2 and 1/2 water. And was wondering about leaf removal for better light penatration. Here is my last batch of hempys. I have them under cfls which lets me get the light close which has helped with over stretching in my opinion. Then after their 3 week stretch is over they go under my 600 hps. I really need another hps.P3110183.jpgP3110180.jpgthere are 18 23w cfl under the reflector

I would recalibrate your ph meter before I go to much farther in the diagnosis. Then retest your water after leaving it sit out for a day or two and see what it reads then.

I run my ph in the low 6's but many like to run closer to the hydro range of mid to high 5's. It's a bit of a discovery act each grow but I think as long as your in the base range of 5.5-6.5 you should be alright.

Watts that is what I am thinking too! I am going to buy a new tote and sterilize pump and fittings, cut new collars! Thanks for the comment about my moms! I plan on putting them outside when the season is ripe for them.

Man I've had an oakton eco ph testr for like two or three years now and never store it in anything and I never had calibrated until recently I was curious and it was .1 off. lol. Also has the original battery in it as well. I have a blue lab truncheon I bought about the same time and I never test or store it. It too is on its original batteries as well. lol.

Now with the sunshine mix #4 I don't even ph anything anymore. Makes life really simple.

I'm running ISS and NY sour diesel at the moment. Not sure on the count about 50 or so can't remember! Using OC+ and OC for veggies and tomatos 14-14-14 adding cal mag to RO water every watering of 5ml per gallon. Still new to growing and trying to get everything dialed. What are average yields per watt are hempyneers getting because I feel like I should avg more than I have.

I did calibrate the meter the old school way with salt water...it was correct. I have not really had any issues that I know of, after all I'm new at this...why does this matter? is it growth thing or a plant health thing? More important in Veg or Flower?
