hey rocket,

swim started with 5 x 5 hempys in a 1 m tray,swim foUnd lots of space at harvest time, swim then started 6x6 in a 1 m tray and trimmed lower branches, swim noticed better colas less popcorn but still a little space, swim then went for 7 x 7 and that is as far as swim would take the 1 m tray, 3 ft or 1m to swim would be 7 hempys with training,
then swim found that a 1m area is wasting a a bit of footprint on a 600w hps,especially when sog/scrog is used.

i found this a while ago;

if you go by an average grow-lighting chart that shows each wattage light’s footprint you will see a 150-watt has a footprint that is 2’ X 2’ totaling 4 sq. sf. of light coverage. A 600-watt light has a footprint of 6’ X 6’ totaling 36 sq. ft.
Just going by equal footprint size it would take nine 150-watt lights to equal the footprint size of one 600-watt HID light.
　
When it comes to lighting some things do not add up and others do not divide equally.

although swim has started using 49 per tray recently he is using the full perimeter of the tray to finish or start other hempys (you can get 30 all the way around) .swim also uses 400w for the first 4 weeks and slides the tray over to the 600 for the final 4 weeks but you can only really efficiently cover the 1m tray with a 400 w footprint . hempys really push the boundary in sog with the right training

swim never took a full accurate weight of the full tray as they come down at different times but averages have been taken a few times and the weight varies dependent on strain and training but would say 8g overall dry pp.

I must add that swim is at 49 (7x7) atm and has not done the 6 feet square as he believes a 5 feet square is perfect for his set up and maybe 12 rows in 5 feet is pushing it but even a 6x11 in that space is very good going! if they dont suffer ill effects your golden for a 7x12 init! one day swim will try 12x 12 under a 600 but he needs to dial in the necessary implementations.

I will keep my eyes open. Just love the clean look of 2l sitting in those crates!



That route is a good idea if you ever upgrade to a bigger area. Why buy a bunch of different ballasts when you ca just buy higher watts than you need and dial it down. Never know, You may go bigger someday :)

If you do go the 600w route and dial it down just make sure the digi ballast doesn't run interference with others electronics or cable/sat signals. I've never had that problem my self but I only have one neighbor and is to far away to be an issue! Good luck with whatever you descide Sky Rocket!

the mutant is coming around, looking okay but rather sad for its age (~6 weeks)

started another Blue Satellite, which were a free boxing day gift when I bought my auto-flowers seeds, so I figure I give them a try.

They have been a pain in the ass to get going, slower than molasses in January....I remember the girl saying "let us know if you have problem germinating these".

The little one was started 10 days ago, sprouted in a few days but just didn't do anything for days but is just now got it first set of leaves

It's sure looking like I got a bunch of loser...oh well

I've got a question for your friend. I remember the original concept of the enlarged rez in the tubs, with the nice cut-out lids to repel light. With his newer tighter packing of bottles, is there a need for the lid? And I would imagine that the air stones would have to go also?

Yeah i've only grown 1 auto so far and I'm pretty sure i've already decided not to grow any more, it started flowering at something like 8 inches and while the quality of the bud was alright it definitely was not suited well for my scrog not that i expected it to be, if anyone does go with auto i would highly suggest going with what ever it was that jela10 was growing...

Well its been a while since i have done an update so i figured its about time to do one, its been about 19 days since i started the flowering light cycle and about 9 days since i noticed flowers and here they are, last night i defoliated the burmese kush and i still haven't gotten around to the veneno that's why it looks so much fuller...

Day 11/12 of flowering this round. Fun weekend where i get to lollipop these girls and give em a nice soaking with some greencure. Havet seen PM (knock on wood) but its a good preventative and i like to use it when i do a lot of cutting to help protect the open wounds. I cut all my LST twine off the branches so they are FREE hah....well except for where the string grew into the branches oops. I havent ever done the bluedream as large as these ones and it makes large buds even on small plants so it should be exciting! Main stalks are thicker than my thumb and plants are in 1.5 and 3 gallon containers (this one is 3g). The girl in the picture has about a 6 sq ft canopy 2.5 x 2.5 and im expecting at least 3 ounces. Cheers...and Moe my thoughts are with ya mate.

A bunch of beautiful plant shots today. I'm going for the youngest of the day. Shots from this morning 6:30 my TZ. 3.5days since seeds were planted, middle one was up last night the others greeted me this morning.

1st pair of girls PE autos, last one is a Green Poison Auto not that you could really tell the difference. Just happy to get 3 for 3

Picked up some gods gift and larry og a buddy recently harvested tonight. First time with gods gift and I rather liked it. Good combo of head and body. Larry has been one of my favorites for awhile and this batch amazed even me. Smoked in the tub and wife says I kept asking her where the remote to turn off the water was. This batch is kickin my ass!

Gods gift crops quite heavy too...but all 3 i did last run hermied. After a 2 mnth cure its quite delicious.

My big Afghan blueberry got the lollipop tonight along with the rest. Sprayed Greencure again and damn glad im done doing all that. Since i LSTd there were so many 4 -6 inch branches cut off bottom third of plants that i must have 500 potential cuttings. So i recut each branch and jammed em all in two vases with some hormones and water n stuck em in my closet with the light on. Dont care much if they root or not but i bet some do...and if they all root..shit im gonna play johhny ganja seed all over town!

Now that its done im glad though airflow is so much better and after a few days of shock these securedownload-46.jpgsecuredownload-135.jpgladies should kick into big ass cola making gear....as you see i kept all 18 since my attempted at a SCROG failed due to laziness. In a few weeks ill have some nice bud porn to share with all you beatiful bud growing people.

Think im going to try the PK 13/14 for a week starting monday. Beggining of week 3 when budset is in full effect and then again at week 5-6 to see if it helps. Thoughts? Jela?

I'm using it again with my current grow, going with weeks 3, 5 and 7. Saw some good results from it as the buds did seem to expand a little.

I use the liquid koolbloom (P/K 10/10) from about day 17 right thru till my final flush. I start out light and work my way to full strength and give it every watering. I feed every watering, only giving plain water when I flush about every 17-21 days. Worked pretty well for me this round, my best yet.
