World Of Hempy

Watts, other than the feeding during weeks 1&2, my instructions for Piranha say to drop a pinch in the hole before transplant and to set the roots directly on the powder. I've been tossing a pinch in the bottom of the bucket before anything else, then a pinch in the hole. I don't even mess with weeks 1&2 of flower anymore. I asked a guy at the hydro store why only weeks 1&2 of flower and he said something about the microbes multiplying and actually robbing some N, P or K that are important in later weeks of flowering...can't remember which. Looks to me like you only need to start the colony in your container at grow start then supplement with extra to promote nutrient uptake during flower start. I have a free sample of liquid Trantula too...just haven't tried it due to ample success with great roots in all too warm temps. BTW, my roots have been awesomely dispersed in the bucket bottoms since I left perlite for mapito or rockwool in the res. You are the only one here that has seen that besides me with larger buckets as the 2L crowd doesn't see that with coco.

sup hempsters, just got a 3 pack of feminized big bud from vision seeds in spain, anyone have any exp with this? it say 60% indi 40% sativa and 18-22%thc +/- 500gr/m2 yield. Hoping this will be a good candidate for the 3L poland springs experiments. Also looking into rockwool in the coco, hows it workin out?? I would love to if possible recycle old rockwool used from clones

I've done a couple Big Bud Cross but not a pure Big Bud. What I know from the crosses they will get as tall as you want them or taller, and the buds do get massive, to the point you need to watch humidity so you don't get bud rot (lesson learned).

Bud rot is not a problem here right now, its dry and hot. Just came out of the grow room, it's lights out now 2 hrs till show time..... 16% humidity and 86 degrees. I'll be pushing 90 for the 1st few hrs of lights on tonight, but by morning just before lights go out, room will be in the mid 70's.

I like your way of thinking, I should have done it that way earlier in flower. I've only got 2 weeks left with this batch and the next group of clones are going in from 7 pm to 7 am. luckly my temps haven't gotten over 84 degrees for a high and humidity stays around 25%.

I run my lights at night now, usually cool down there in the daytime...I alos open some of the hotter cabinets for extra air flow...cause it is hot here.

Hey Nizza where you bean, mah mane? Hey rockwool is rockin the hempy any way you want to use it, as a mix with coco up top and as a great res medium all by itself. It sucks up water and holds it longer than perlite down there. Last grow and this one were rockwool on the bottom and coco coir on top. Nothing weird about pH or anything else noticed...just don't expect a lot of runoff with the feed qty's you are used to as it is a sponge. Hmm...now you got me thinking about sponges...I'll have to toss in a few in the next grow. Dish rags are next on the list. I'll bet I could get 4oz off some disposable baby diapers in 2gal bucket. (unused LOL)

Ok guys, I have a problem....has anyone else used the green painted bamboo from wal mart? I think it's killing my plants?

I can't figure out what else it could be, the whole bud and plant just dies and turns a rusty yellow color?

I bought some bamboo there just a couple of days ago....a green color, for my wife's hempy tobacco grow that was leaning over. I almost stuck some in my hempy buckets for a strain that was was getting too tall with loooong colas. I suddenly went paranoid when I saw the hollow insides. Who knows what insect crawled up there and laid eggs or what the dye was that made them a dark green. I know Wally World is doing a lot of Chinese imports (still shop there to save a buck per item over grocery stores), you don't know where that bamboo came from. I just gave up and grabbed some plastic coated metal rods from Home Depot and shoved those in the buckets for support. I've never had spider mites yet and not looking forward to a foreign strain of sorts either. Who-kie, there may be the slight chance that the bamboo stake hit a tap root ..or that it is releasing a chemical it was prepared with that is not pH friendly.

Yea Who.......... lights on at night is a necessity when growin' without the aid of AC.
Watts, you got it so good up there...where I live you put your lights on at night too, even if the AC runs constant....115° during the day, 85-90° at night.....Resin is stickiest here, would be my only benefit.

Jela I'm thinking it might be some kind of toxic paint, maybe even a dye so it gets absorbed by the plant and they die in days...I started removing them tonight, and noticed most of the ones that were dead had the color missing off the bottom...

The bag was all chewed up on the end with the bamboo I got....it could have been sitting there leaning against the wall soaking up anything from floor mop solution to spilled fertilizers & bug killer.

Really awesome pictures Psylo. What do you use to take pics? Great looking buds too. Especially that first strain.
I have to second that Psylo, absolutely breathtaking...I love that foxtailing vintage look on some. I still ask myself...how do you guys water all those without getting anything on the leaves to spot them up.
