Worst root rot problem in history

Not 100%

bleach doesnt even kill 100%

the only sure fire way is to fight fire with fire = bactiria vs bactiria
Bleach will definitely kill 100%. H2o2 will if you use enough. Just don't want to kill the plants in the process. I need to paint the walls with Killz paint.

Well, all my roots look good. All systems at 2 ml per gallon daily.

Got my coco system running. Noticed they grew almost instantly when I fertilized them, literally an hour later noticed new tips. Awesome shit, that coco. Water runs right through it like it isnt there. I have drip pans for the coco pots. I put grates over them to hold the pots up. Put some bleach water in the drip pans. Hydro dude said to water them once a day with about a cup of run off per pot. Will setup drippers tomorrow. Automate everything.

Running the coco at 550 ppm solution ph'd at 5.7, drain to waste. Should be no problems whatsoever with it.

I have some mothers in coco based potting soil. They have not been affected at all. Just those in hydro. Growing Black licorice (my own strain) OG Kush, TrainWreck and LA Confidential.

I have had a hard time this last year. Went through a year of Hep C treatment, was half dead for a full year. Is almost like having chemo. That's when the rot hit me. Just now getting the strength back to deal with this shit.

I use pondzyme, it's $15, treats 8000 gallons of water, and is carried at your local pet store. I use it for maintenance, I doubt it will fix established root rot. I would just flush the roots well with bleach or h202 water and put the plants in a fresh res with pondzyme (or whatever enzyme / bacteria you want). Obviously h202 is not working for you, time to try something different.

If that doesn't fix the root rot, time to brew up some heisenberg tea. I feel like a bitch pushing pondzyme lately, but it works (in my setup) and it's so cheap and easy to get. Don't forget to dechlorinate your tap water (if applicable) if you go that route.

Have you looked at this? https://www.rollitup.org/dwc-bubbleponics/361430-dwc-root-slime-cure-aka.html
if you think of how much money this is costing you then it might be some incentive to actually read through this thread, and if you have and Heisenburg cant help you then my advice is suck it up and go SOG in dirt to get those huge yields that those buckets give ya. I hope youve never read it though because its saved alot of hydro grows :):):)
My hydro guy knows a dude who owns a hydroponics fertilizer company. He makes a line of beneficials. Today he called dude but dude wasn't in his office. He will call him again for me Monday. Dude is an expert in beneficials. I will see what he says. I am not into organics at all. Will see.

As for sea of green, I am limited to 15 plants. I will never ever ever ever ever go dirt again.

My systems were all infected. Those systems no longer exist. I have built new ones. I am using twice the H2o2 I was using before. So far, no issues. I am now in prevention mode. Just dont' want it to come back.

I am being overly clean now. I change out the systems I have every 5 or 6 days. I bleach everything endlessly. I have a spray bottle of bleach water that I spray everything with. Every tool that touches my systems gets either sprayed with bleach water first or dipped in a bucket of bleach water first. When I change out my systems, I fill the reservoirs with bleach water, like a whole cup of bleach, and run them and run my chillers with it. I then empty them then refil them with water and run them again to get the bleach out before I refill them with water.

When I clean my low pressure aero system, I take the plants out and fill it with bleach water, then run the sprayers for about 15 minutes. Then I empty it and fill it with water to douche it out. THen empty it again and fill it back up. I use my spray bottle to spray bleach water underneath every tub, bucket and reservoir. I fill a bucket with bleach water and pour it all over the floor of my rooms then mop it up then dry it with a fan. Bleach bleach bleach bleach. I am going bleach crazy. I have used a gallon of bleach in two weeks.

what about growing in coco chips? Ive heard it called passive hydro i think, never tried it but it grows trees. I dont know what your friend knows but id be willing to bet that Heisenburg know more of the problems your having than the owner of that company. Trust me, click the link and read. You wont be disapointed, and youll probly fix your issue real fast. Ive never had rot issues so i cant help you, Heisenburg can.
Oh heres the link to a journal where the guys using passive hydro as he calls it, https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/601765-5-plants-4000-watts-colorado.html .Good luck

Not sure why you insist on running h202 and doing ball busting work, but have fun man. At least it's under control.

Im glad all is good with your method, i always say if it isnt broke dont fix it :)

but your rong about bleach and h202 killing 100% of it! But we can
agree to disgree

Ding ding ding! This is the right answer trust me. Had the same problem tried bleach, h2o2, pyth off. Brew the tea at lest two days like it says and add as directed. I used great white, aquashield, and ancient forest(in a sock) and it cleared up quick. You'll always want a bucket brewing with dwc.

Another vote for try the tea huh? Well i dont think this guys even going to look at the thread, wast of breath from here on.

I dont mind the work. Just making sure it doesn't come back. I am being wayy overly clean because I have this gnawing fear it will come back. I will be hyper clean for six months or a year, then maybe back off a little.

Cant hurt to be super clean. After a year of being sick my basement looked like shit. Filled the back of a pickup truck getting rid of all the crap I had down there. Bags of used hydroton everywhere, etc. What a fuckin mess.

I always thought using coco was almost like soil until I set it up last night. Water runs right through it just like hydroton. Unlike soil you water it every day. Some people run drip through it several times per day. I have them in three gallon pots for the veg cycle, then will put them in ten gallon pots for flowering. The root balls should be even bigger than with DWC. What drew me to it was the fact it runs drain to waste. It's almost impossible to get rot on drain to waste.

The funk embeds itself in the plants, which is what you are alluding to. Once you have it systemically in the plant, it doesn't go away. You just get into a standoff with it and it continually reinfects the system. It also gets in your walls, etc. That's fine, I'm ready for war.

I'm reading it right now. :) What I'm thinking is I will run one system with beneficials and see which works the best.

Which system should I try the microbes in? I am thinking my homemade ebb and gro style system, because it has standing water in the bottoms of the buckets between floods. My low pressure aero sprays almost constantly so there is no stagnant water in it.

I run hydro too and the only time I get rot is when light leaks into my res.. I have home depot buckets they work well but you can not put the light to close cuz the light penetrates the orange top. Plus where i cut the hole for the pumps tube I have to make sur no light gets in the either... I Do Not think u need use all that h2o2 or compulsively clean , just check your system for light leaks into the res...

Good Luck!

sounds to me like you need to take a pause and grow soil style for a while until your skills improve. If you have torn down your previous grows and sanitized everything you won't have any nasty pythium strains hanging around. I'd suggest trying a soilless coco\peat\perlite mix and HAND Water to runnoff with a weak nute solution BUT only when the pots are light.

Pay attention to temp, humidity, soil moisture, soil ph, and the looks of the plant. By all means stop using peroxide and KISS.

I have been doing hydro for years. I abandoned soil five years ago and I will never ever go back to it. I was doing soilless back in the mid 80s.

Will not go back to that.

Pythium or whatever is kinda weird. Some people don't do a damn thing and never have problems. Other people seem to have to do more work to keep the res in good condition.

Personally, if I don't run benes or if I kill them with chlorine I get slimed every single time. Other people keep just keep the res below 70*, don't run benes/h202, and never have any problems. Some people a light dose of h202 seems to work, other people have to brew up tea and constantly use it.

Maybe it has to do with the environment; the microbial life floating in the air and covering everything may be different from region to region. Really just stoner speculation but sounds plausible to me!

I'm painting the entire basement with kills paint tomorrow. Grew hydro successfully in there for years. Sucks.

Keep in mind there are different types of "benificials" some will search and destroy all while others are simply root inoculants.

Also, how often were you changing the rez?

Was there light shining in it?

Proper use of h202 and 100% synthetic nutes with a chiller for the rez sounds perfect. Something is missing
