It's only about a $100-$150 camera (Moultrie) and fortunately they don't come with any remote options. You can buy other aftermarket systems for game cameras though (like the cellular ones that email the pictures to you as they are taken)... but any of those would have been noticed attached to the camera. No need to worry about that at least.
By the way, just thought of something... you said the camera had month old pictures - the battery in those only lasts a week or two (especially in the summer). Whoever put it up has likely already been to the camera at least once already to replace the batteries (and could have looked at/copied the pictures) if that's the case...
