Kingc, here's what i did, but there are better ways. i saved a paper egg box.(1 doz) and put organic pro grow, and vermiculite 20%. thoroughly wet the medium, and let it rest 24 hours. after that, I just put the seeds in 1/8" . closed the lid, and put a layer of plastic wrap around it. it took five days for them to sprout, but ALL seeds sprouted. after 1 week ii soaked the medium, and the roots released without a problem. then it was to the 16 ounce cups.
another way is the old tried and true paper towel, and sandwich baggy. usually get roots in 24-36 hours with this method, but if you don't catch them in time, the roots will hang on the paper .
or soak them for 24 hours in h2o, and then plant.
it's a seed .... give it water, and love, and with a little luck it'll grow.
as for lights, 2 cfls per, in a y splitter, and a makeshift hood, I had some white aluminum gutter material laying around so I used that. if you search around, you'll find a shit-ton of ideas.lights are 1-2 inches away, with a pc fan blowing directly on them at all times. 24/0 with the lights, for 26 days. then 12/12; hope that helps man, and good luck with the ladies.
slinger36s, thanks for the call on that one.... still no pistils on those two... but no male flower either.
i checked your progress, great job bro.!! i'm on it.
