root rot, had the same thing happen to one of my plants on my last grow. you had better either completely separate that plant from your others if you can. if not the chances of the rest of your plant becoming infected are close to 100% i would say.

if you dont separate them you better cut out as much rot as possible, run 1 tsp per gallon of 3% h2o2 that you can get from any store, and hope it kills the remaining bacteria. but if you dont separate them, and it gets worse your whole crop is going to go to shit.

when i got THE ROT i did the exact same thing you did, just changed the water and nutes, ran h2o2 but within 48 it was too late and the plant was beyond help

honestly i would just say fuck it and chop the bitch as much as that would suck

GH nutes can cause the roots to be stained brown you probably have a lack of oxygen though as those roots look pretty dark get yourself some H2O2 and add more bubblers. Before that clean out the rez with water and bleach rinse well and start with fresh solution. I really like adding a ultrasonic fogger to my units because it sterilizes the solution and helps maintain healthy roots. Also make sure that the temp of your nute solution is not getting too high.

You can buy them online they are little units that create a fog in your reservoir by using a disk that vibrates at ultrasonic frequencies. Good prices on this websitehttp://www.mainlandmart.com/foggers.html

I added 12 oz of h2o2 3% before i read any of the posts today. Although this may kill the plants becuase I apparently added to much, the roots look much better right now these pic are about 1 hour after the h2o2 was added. Compare the first four shots vs. the last two. Which were taken day before yesterday.

Picked these up today for the res. Hopefully they'll increase my oxygen levels. The new smaller res also is completely light tight. Wrapped the sucka with black duck tape all over. So im hoping this is going to solve my problems. I know that everyone said there is no getting rid of this but it definately looked better last night. I'll know more today what I can get a look in the veg chamber. Keep ya'll posted

airstones are good, very good. u got pumps for em right? and light proofing, definately good. h2o2 might do the trick, but i like using foggers from start to finish because they keep the solution really clean. only thing is u cant use beneficial microbes. all in all i hope it turns around bruh...

I'm sorry mate, but the only thing that will prevent it from happening again is proper environment. I think you are making steps in the right direction, maintain res temps below 72 and look into 'Root Exelerator' , it's a great product for stressed roots! Keep in mind that once the environment is corrected you will not need these products anymore (I mean for your next grow) I would try to get some stronger H202 (30+%)!

Good luck mate, I'm glad that your roots are showing signs of improvement!!

awsome everything is looking ok tonight dont reall have time to put up all the picks cause its date night with the woman, but ill have em up tomorrow. ill be posting lots of them on my grow journal too...can someone tell mle how to link my grow journal in my thread signature???

Ps the only problem im having right now is that my ph's keep going up...i think this may be cause by all the h2o2 that i added??? i check bout twice a day and adjust as necessary, but it seems they keep going back up to about 6.5 or 7. not sure why...by the way those stupid air stones I got dont work to well, i think my air pump may be a little to weak. Looked at foggers today too, but they are bout 45$ at pet smart. little bit pricey, is it really worth the extra investment vs. airstones????

even with a fogger you would still need proper aeration... i like using a pump thats rated for five to ten times more water than your system can hold. that way you can assure there is enough air. foggers are great, and very versatile. u could yank it out of there and use it to make a cloner, foiar feed with them, keep humididty levels up in dry climates. you can find them for a bout twenty five to thirty bucks online, or you can snatch one up from your local petstore if the funds are tight

True foggers rock but you still have to aerate but it is nice to know what your solution is nice an sterile.:hump:
