WTF? little white worms eatin my seeds!!

I have these white worms too on my seed, it is not the taproot. There are a ton of very small worms that were coming out of the split on my seed. I can see the taproot coming out and then some worms crawling on the outside and some coming out of the middle. It is a normal sized seed, so you can imagine how small they are when I saw there were a lot of them. Does anybody know what I am talking about? The last time that I saw these worms was when I germinated an avocado seed... I found them crawling all over it.

Same thing happened to mine today. I had a seed that was germ'd and stuck in the soil and nothing happened. The scary part is I used tap water to germ in a paper towel. So I wonder if the worm eggs were in the water? Hopefully they're in the soil so atleast I'm not cooking with millions of worm eggs. No idea what they are though.

the avocado seed that had the worms has finally rooted.. one of my 5 plants also rooted but hasnt produced cotyledons. I have searched all over for the answer to these little worms but cant seem to find anything!

I've had seed that looked good at first, actually had microscopic little critters that looked like either maggots or maybe even caterpillars. I didn't have a jewelers loop or microscope at the time, but that was the scale of them.

I tried to germ them anyway, but they were all duds.

I'd get different seeds, but it never hurts to try.

Good luck

It's ok. the eggs feed the giant snake that lives in your stomach. you better keep drinking...you don't want to make that thing mad!

sorry....I couldn't resist:fire::fire:
but really...you need to keep drinking:eyesmoke:

i have the same problems. tiny white worms, about one millimeter long, turning the seeds into flush

did you cleaned with bleach your lamp, reflector, socket, plant pots, watering device before using them?

did you use soil that has been in contact with soil coming from the outside (eg compost)? has your soil been sterelised with steam? check your bags.

do you buy any imported fruits where tiny flies could have been carried in the stem root (where the stem attaches to the fruit) such as prunes, apples, peaches, grapes.

do you have other plants nearby that could contaminate?

try germinating your seeds for a longer time and have them grow a longer taproot, 1 or 1.5 inches before putting them in the ground.

where do you germinate your seeds? don't do it in a closet or nearby cotton, shoes, etc.

live and learn, my friend. starting seeds is the toughest, most delicate part. dont be sloppy at all.

Roots do not move fuck head! I had a germinated seed fail and when I tore the cube open I found several very tiny black-headed white worms. There was 1 inside the empty seed shell.

sounds like they were in the seeds/seed to begin with.... and then hatched during germination. try buying some beans instead of bagseed which im guessin it was...

Had a similar problem

had a worm like the one posted on pg 1..... As soon as I put some water on the tip is started coming out

I quickly tried to get it with a cotton swap and somehow the shell fell off the seedling, hope it keeps on growing
