Yellowing Leaves Prematurely?

Hi all, I hope you can give me a little help.

Got a bagseed that's about five weeks after switching to 12/12. I grew it in compost which was amended with Epsom and a little DE. I switched from a 600W MH to a 600W HPS when I switched the lighting schedule, and they have always been about 24" from the top of the plant. Temps have ranged between 65dF and 78dF. Humidity has always been low (30% RH most of its life with a spell of 15-20% during this last cold spell in the U.S.).

I top-dressed with a tablespoon of 4-4-4 and a pinch of Epsom shortly after the yellowing started because it seemed too early in flowering for leaves to go yellow. I used mellow nutes in case I was wrong. That is the only time I added anything other than tap water, 7.2 pH 90 ppm.

The yellowing continues to progress, but very slowly. This all started five days ago. They start yellowing at the tips and it progresses toward the leaf stem. All yellowing leaves are the first ones up the colas from the main stem.

Are there strains out there whose leaves start to yellow this early in flowering? Or do I perhaps have something else going on?

Im not convinced this isnt just normal late flower yellowing. There is no tip burn, and other leaves are pretty dark green.

You should probably lower the PH though. I go with about 6.2 for soil.

Too early for late fade.

Thanks all. The yellowing seems to have slowed down since I top-dressed, but a few more days will give me more to go on.

If the yellowing progresses, I will bring my tap water down to 6.5pH with lemon juice before the next watering to see if that does anything.

Trying to make minor adjustments considering the stage of the plant.

The compost must have been a little weak.
Well, there's a bit of history there.

The compost was actually HOT AS FUCK.

After a minor heat episode (in conjunction with high N), I lost a lot of big fan leaves. So I flushed the FUCK out of it. Saved the plants. But I think I'm on the other end of it and needed to add some N. Since I flushed a lot of the goodies out, I might be a little high on the pH scale as well. I'll dial it in, especially with some of the RIU input I've gotten.

All things considered, I love this place. :eyesmoke:
