You got a valentine?

It's a really rude and mean holiday if you think about it. How would you feel if the entire country seemed to be celebrating a holiday that completely excluded you when you wanted to be included? That's what Valentine's Day is for gay people. Everybody else is celebrating the blessing of marriage while they sit wishing they could have it. It doesn't seem right. Like rubbing it in their faces almost.

Yes, I know the feeling. 75% of my life was spent valentineless. Some years I embraced it, most years I wondered what about me.

What? Gay people can still celebrate- no one's stopping them because most people have no idea about the holiday's origins. Two years ago, I didn't have any make company so I invited a girlfriend over for a candlelit sushi dinner and played her some Barry White. Civil partnerships are the same in the sense you have consciously made a commitment to your other half, legally declared it and marked the occasion. I very much believe in the significance of marriage, unlike a lot of people, sadly. The only difference is that your are not joined in the eyes of god, because he made man for woman I believe. Even if I fell deeply in love with a fantastic woman like yourself, I couldn't 'expect' a church ordained wedding or have my family cool with it.

But it does exclude people who are forever lonely. I thing that could soon change for me though...

I wanted to marry my girlfriend once. We had been together a while. She was Lutheran and her church was very supportive of us and volunteered their church for the ceremony. But we were told we couldn't be (by the state, not the church). Lame.

many churches is that relationships other than m x f are a perversion of god's will. Satan never creates, but distorts and deceives, and to a lot of people actively giving the 'ok' is opening the door to 'other things'.

But I'm sorry things didn't work out with your girlfriend and you had to experience a rejection from the state first-hand... I feel for you. Don't let that stop you picking up a cutie for V-Day, though ;3

I haven't been alone on Valentines day in a long time, but I am not sure I like to celebrate it...I don't really understand what it is about...But I will say I enjoy any holiday where people buy me candy and jewelry because I really like both sugar and sparkly things.

I think most women would be considered "bisexual" ...I haven't come across a woman that doesn't find attractive women attractive... I think it is why they are called attractive...Everyone loves attractive people...if they didn't they wouldn't be attractive...they would be ---be---distractive?---no, no, no, there has to be a word...besides unattractive---hmmm...Nope I think it is just called unattractive...Anyway if a guy is hot he is hot, and if a girl is hot she is hot...I think I should be able to be equally attracted to both... The bible condemns anyone for "laying with animals" and while the rule of no man on man is clearly stated the rule of woman on woman is not, because women were rarely mentioned in the bible, other than for being temptresses and whores...God gave up on women before he gave up on men apparently---lol... The bible also says men shouldn't jerk off, but gives no mention of women...and since vibrators were first used as medical devices---to cure female hysteria---True story look it up... Steam powered vibrator...hahaahahahahahahahaaa I want one...anyway women were left out of the bible because women weren't allowed in churches, or to read and write, we were still being treated like livestock... Whether a woman went to heaven or hell was also based on the actions of her husband... There are still come backwater places that still maintain these ideals...gross---Anyway as with most literature it almost always gives you the ideas that were held to be true at the time the book was written...Woman were left out because women didn't matter...

All the commercials I am seeing this year say valentines day is about sex, candy and jewelry...I believe gay people enjoy all of those...It is a made up holiday about ? love---? I haven't heard marriage mentioned...

If the poll results haven't been tampered with too much, then the results show there to be a correlation between being a stoner and being an unwanted fucking loser. Naw I'm just kidding!!!!!! Well yeah that's the typical shit, but where do I take her? Dinner is a start but what about after?

Every other valentine I've had was someone I've been dating for a while so going to dinner and hanging out and fucking was just the norm.
The only difference was buying a valentines day present.

It's a holiday celebrating marriage and Saint Valentine. Just like Saint Patrick's Day is honoring Saint Patrick. Just because a card and candy company market it as looove doesn't mean that's what it's about. That just means they can appeal to a larger audience - not just the married ones. That's like saying I celebrate Christmas, but I don't believe in Jesus. Why the hell are you celebrating it then, sheeple??!
