Yep, exact same car I had.
225 hp or something like that.
I learned to change plug wires one at time because I totally crossed wires on this car
and couldn't figure out why it was blowing fuel all over.
I was young and stupid, no google back then and no book.
Luckily a real mechanic figured it out and only made fun of me a little.
 
1978 Ford LTD II, widest or longest car on the road. This car was beyond a POS, it was downright dangerous. My parents bought 3 cars in their lifetime, and we didn't drive any of them. They were both from Manhattan and never learned to drive, but they thought if they bought a car they would learn. Which they never did. This Ford was the last car they bought, and had been sitting there for a few months, so I bought it from them for $500. It must have been in a major front end collision, because I'd come to find out that the entire front end was made of thick bondo. Also, the grill was simply a flat sheet of steel that someone gouged out some air holes by hammering in a chisel and prying outward. The result was the UGLIEST A-Team special you've ever seen. I decided to enhance the ugliness by putting in a truck horn that required a compressor, and left the original horn in. It was a major third along with a minor second, pure dissonance, and it was LOUD. Freaked everyone out. I was frequently pulled over by cops wondering if it was road worthy. It burned as much oil as gas, and the tires were completely bald, so if it rained it did not want to come to a stop. I got in SO many accidents, back then the law didn't require insurance. I once hit a guy on pcp crossing the street, he ran right in front of my car at the last second, and he disappeared so quickly that I thought I ran him over. Turned out he was airborne and landed about a hundred feet away. Cops said it wasn't my fault, but I was traumatized. The next morning I had to clean some blood off the sharp, A-team grill, and had to pick pieces of leg flesh and denim out of the grill holes. Disgusting. I used to drive to university downtown, and would park it anywhere. I'd get about 3 tickets per week, and had racked up over 3 grand worth by the time they took my car. Back then they just impounded your car and didn't come after you to collect the rest of the money, so that was a good deal. They should have taken it earlier, may have saved a few lives...

best car i ever had .......the thing was a fucking tank i when into a embankment at 40 miles a hour (smashed my head in the windshield picking glass out for 3 weeks ) .....it knocked my ass out for about 10 mins when i woke up i started the car back up back out and went home

after that i loved the car the front end was little fucked up i get in the fast lane on the high way ......ppl would move out of my way so i could go pass them ( look at the front of my car i am doing 80 on your ass they just moved over loved it)

the car itself could hold 11/12 ppl 3 in front seat 4 if small 4 in the back seat and 4 in the trunk ....and oh those back floors were so deep i rem one time when the cooler flipped all the ice and water stayed there .....the beer was still cold when i stopped

and the car was the best for fielding .........i rem my little brother broke his arm in a wreck once about 3 weeks later we go out to charlie brown's (oldest bong shop in my area) we pick up 2 nice bongs and to break them in we decided to hit the field taken the path back to the creek we knew of .......well he gets in the back seat and i am shitty stoned so i wanted to drive around do dounuts and figure 8s ...u know slide in the dirt ......his ass was just bouncing all over the back seat when i stopped he slugged me in the jawl for it

yes 4 living ppl in the trunk ..........how to put this
the name of the highschool .......slingawhore ....corn fields on 3 sides of the school ......the closest big city is about 13 miles away and it does not have any clubs just bars........in this area as teen/20 year old u got nothing ..u need to drive 40 miles east or west or 70 miles to dc

so the car had to fit everyone could so walked in 10 20 30 deep into the clubs (we are the outsiders roll deep for protection and a good time) couple fights cooner got jumped and shit kicked out of him ...tony did too but he earned that ass kicking for trash talk

Dude I use to rock a 97 astrology that thing was a beast son I lowered 2 front 4 rear sat on 22s (spinners) that shit was gangster. I had subs took the middle seat out so it was just back seat we would fog that mother fuckering out son I loved that van.
