Okay lets us have your thoughts and opinions on today's court case.
What say ye patients?

Any reasonable court will see how this program is not in the best interests of patients.

fingers are crossed but I have very little faith that things will work out the way we all want it to. Either way I sure would be happy if we find out the verdict today rather than waiting any longer.

Like previous programs it will go right to the top courts. There is too much presidence to have it turned away right now. I expect a decision probably next week giving an extension till the SC can hear.

Been having trouble sleeping, big day today. Whatever happens one side will be appealing the decision, it more than likely will go all the way to supreme court before we either breathe a sigh of relief or break down in tears. Hopefully the courts see right through the crown's so called "evidence" and show compassion to canadian citizens in need, something the government sure ain't doing.

I am nervously optimistic about today. The courts have usually favored the patient over the government and I expect the same here. As much as I want to know the outcome today I think the judge will reserve judgement until next week. They seem to like the dramatic effect of '11th hour' decisions!

I just think it is a joke that HC and Harper are treating patients as criminals do they not remember who signed of on medical marihuana in the first place it was HC and our government. Oh and by the way Hitler required all Jewish descendants to register with his gov so he could round them up kind of sounds like what HC And Harper are doing right now!!!!!

asking for. Only one Judge and only John and the Crown will be in the court

all that stands between patients and their permits to grow!

It sure is tough being a 'glass 1/2 full' kinda guy with Harper and his majority. Sending out positive vibes to Conroy and Associates today!

Aren't there a bunch of previously decided cases that the government did nothing about? So Harper basically thumbs his nose at everyone including the supreme court.

I believe that an injunction will be granted to extend the MMAR as it is until the constitutionality of the MMPR can be judged by the Supreme Court of Canada.
R v. Davis gives medically approved patients the constitutionally guaranteed right to "reasonable access" to a safe source of cannabis. The right to grow for patients WILL be preserved.
You cannot send a man to prison because he cannot afford the high cost of the MMPR's cannabis. That violates the charter of rights and freedoms (ie. right to fair treatment)
My "reasonable access" to cannabis fan leaves is GONE under the MMPR which violates the R. v Davis ruling.

They cannot argue that the people who simply cannot afford their cannabis have anything close to "reasonable access", they are simply wrong on it.
They claim to want to treat cannabis as any other medication and at the same time they claim they do not endorse the use of cannabis and only allow it because of a court order (R v. Davis) and they also fail
to mention that unlike "other medications" cannabis is not covered by any public or private health insurance.

I feel like any reasonable judge will be able to see that the MMPR as it is currently is completely unconstitutional and frankly egregious for the tens of thousands of Canadian patients who rely on cannabis for treatment.
The moment of truth is upon us, I have nothing but faith in the Charter of Rights and Freedoms and Mr. Conroy and company's ability to protect our rights.

Very well said and hopefully after today we can all be proud to live in a country that's government looks after the people that voted them in not there own agendas. Thank you John Conroy for standing up for people who do not have the means to stand up for themselves!
