MMPR Grow op: Small Scale

Hi Everyone,

My business partner and I are planing to apply for a 30,000 sqft facility in Southern Ontario, we plan to have 4000 lights and have a set up and first year budget of around $3M. We do not have growing experience we are working with consultants both for operations and for security.

I would be interested in bringing on someone with a production elk or QA person to be a part of our team. We have already started raising investment and plan to rais emuch more as soon as we have the building stage permit in hand.

4000 lights in 30,000sqft? You sure about that? What kind of fixtures? Is that that facility size, or growing area? In our 36,000sqft facility we have under 1000 fixtures. You should reconsider your consultants, if that's what they told you.

4000 x 1000w at 5x5 feet each (25 sqf) = 100,000 sqf
4000 x 1000w at 4x4 feet each (16 sqf) = 64,000 sqf

What if they are planning to use 400W lights (or even 250W)? Not saying this is the best approach but why assume everyone will select 1000W lights?

We had discussed different options, they all have pros and cons.

Would be pimp if it was 4000 mastercolor 315w CDM's, but at 3x3 9sqft x 4000, 36k. they must have plans for a mezzanine? It would also cost 1.2 - 2 for that many mc cdm luminares, roughly $1k per 1kW!

Thanks itsme for answering. Originally they didn't need a copy and now they have decided to change the rules. the only conflict is that the date is supposed to match the prints, which we already sent off. I am kicking myself for not making copies of this form like I did with the rest of the package. So to all those who haven't submitted yet make sure you include a copy to HC!

You can incinerate as long as the smoke does not go into the air. The regulations state that there can be nothing released that some one may come in contact with. Filter on your building for air out take. Filter on your grow rooms so other workers do not get exposed. The incinerator will have to have an exhaust filter.
Don't burn, just mix with kitty litter and water than put it out in the garbage or compost. You can toss stalks out as long as they are bare.

Anyone have any information about clients having multiple medical docs to register with multiple LP's or is a client limited to one LP? Its been awhile and cannot find the references for such matters.

Found it but for some reason cannot copy and paste to this site? Anyways its in the preamble of the MMPR on the gazette's website, just google "multiple medical documents" in quotes with MMPR not in quotes if you want to find it...

Looks like you found it, but you can be registered with multiple LP's. You just need to take a form for each one to your doc, all in one visit, or separate times.

"After registering as a client, individuals will be able to order dried marihuana from the licensed producer. However, licensed producers will not be allowed to sell or provide more than 30 times the daily amount in any 30-day period, taking into consideration the expected length of time for the shipment to reach the registered client, nor will they be able to ship more than 150 g at a time. Health Canada will publish the name and contact information of each licensed producer on its Web site to help individuals select a supplier. If an individual wishes to purchase a variety of strains that are not all available from one licensed producer, the MMPR will permit the individual to do so by obtaining a new medical document. They will have to discuss this with their health care practitioner. The health care practitioner will have to divide the daily quantity between multiple medical documents."

This is an awesome thread. I Just read it start to finish. lots of helpful information and links to other good info. (a good friend of mine has put together a group, and i have been watching them work for hard for a full year on the application. They are not licensed yet.)

I would love to hear updates from people still going through the process. are you making progress in the process? what is the toughest section?

24. As of February 4, 2014, Health Canada has received 454 Licensed Producer applications:

152 applications are at the review phase (This is the in depth review to ensure that all the requirements of the MMPR are met);
153 applications are in the review phase (This is in depth review to ensure that all r equirements of the MMRP are met *
62 have been returned as incomplete (they may be resubmitted); *
27 applicants have "ready to build letters'
12 applicants are pending pre-license inspections 6 applicants in final review *
8 licences have been issued (1 of the 8 is a phased licence); *
24 applications have been refused; and *
10 applications have been withdrawn
