Cap, what do ya think about 2 SGS-160s in flower, supplemented by 4 floods, cobbs, or kessils? I like how you can points these lights exactlty where you want them.

What size area are you trying to cover?
 
Emailed the seller again to see if I can get a 10 watt LED flood with all 380 nm UVA.
So I'll have a very complete spectrum for the next round.

Area 51 XGS 190
20 watt 630 nm LED flood
20 watt 660 nm LED flood
Upper half of UVA?
22" T5 HO Zoo Med Reptisun 10.0 UVB + lower half UVA

I'm really starting to like this full spectrum style. Might want to try the Arcadia t5 reptile one day..expensive but the uv it's putting out is making me a believer

I read on a reptile forum that someone took spectral reading on both, Zoo Med and Arcadia came out the same. The new Zoo Med T5 HO Reptisun 10.0 UVB bulb in now made in Germany so they're probably made in the same factory.
So if your in Europe by the Arcadia and in the USA buy the Zoo Med.
 
Well they responded that they don't offer a all 380 flood so I'll have to look elsewhere for something to cover the upper half of UVA.
 
That's good to know on the zoo med. I actually remember seeing that posted once now. Thanks for pointing that out.

wish I could help on the UVA. I went the ledengin route..just one 5w led at 385nm for now. Puts out 550mw or something. It was stupid expensive but I trust ledengin a lot more than some random china supplier.
 
Kind of silly.. but for all you 730nm users-

How bright is the light emitted from the 730s you are using? Can you look at them "comfortably?"

did you ever consider trying out the philips LED bulbs with the 8 luxeon royal blue diodes? I'm pretty sure they cover upper UVA because when I use them without the remote phosphor things glow just like a black light.
 
My 730 are pretty bright...they are also 10w though, brighter than the ones usually used. Still lots of visible light.

Interesting is my 430 is very bright...405 quite dim.....and 5w ledengin 385 is very dim, mostly in non visible range.
 
I have a question about your 730nm leds. Do they visibly penetrate the leaves better than the 660nm?

Do leaves cast a shadow with 660nm but not 730nm?

If you put a piece of leaf right in front of the 730nm leds like a filter, does all the light still come through?

I haven't tested this myself, but I'd expect these results from the chloraphyl A absorbance charts.
