the citations made it clear, 40% direct photovoltaic efficiency, and 50% of the waste heat reclaimed by other means (such as thermocouples, heat exchangers, or whatever, they werent specific on the details)
that means of the 60% waste energy, they can grab and convert ~50% of the waste which is heat (which is not all of it, naturally)
so if, for example 50% of the waste energy was heat, and they got a 50% efficient return reclaiming it, they would recover an additional ~15% of the total energy input, pushing their overall efficiency to 55% (40% +15%)
40 +(60/2 =30) + ( 30 /2 =15)=55%
they claim overall efficiency of 80% so they either have some really good shit goin on in waste reclamation, or they are slinging some BuckMath

colorado doesnt seem to have any price controls for milk, so those prices are guided by The Invisible Hand Of The Market, so even though califoprnia is one of the top dairy producing states, my price is HIGHER than yours, and the BLS price is bullshit.
nobody in california can get the BLS price on anything, the same is true in just about every state.
only a very select clientele can get prices anywhere near as low as the BLS "averages" and that is only in states where the economy is in the shitter, like mississippi. (hence my Crawford mississippi piggly wiggly dumpster comment)
how the BLS pretends these rock bottom, double coupon, super deal, often lower than wholesale commodity price, retail survey claims are an "average" is one of the mysteries of politics.

safeway vallejo sells lucerne large eggs, 60 count for $9.39.

5 supermarkets in vallejo have closed down in the last 2 years
walmart has just opened one of their "community markets" in town
even the raleys is feeling the pinch
and you cant tell me shit about the prices in vallejo, i was there last week, and the safeway had pretty much everything on sale but was still deserted
step on over to napa, benecia or crockett, and the prices are right back up in the california-normal range.

Few, if any, means are around to extract 50% of heat into something usable, except direct heating. Personally, I think they may be exaggerating their success to attract investors. People would be better off investing in my 150% efficient solar cells.
