@fumble - I have even sprayed right up until harvest. Doesn't smell very good though. Make sure you spray your surrounding garden and ground. The budworms will drop down from the trees.

Once you have this routine down you should be able to go the last month of flower without any caterpillars.

Last round I didn't spray anything after veg and then I hung the plants up to dry outside in the carport. Every day there would be 20 new tiny caterpillars hanging by their silk from the plants. If I had sprayed one more time half way in flower I don't think they would have been stopped. I didn't spray because I thought spring was too early to get caterpillars.

I am basing these findings on a spring crop though, and I am not sure whether the caterpillar cycle is the same for summer/fall.

Jj any grow store should have them for around 20 $ just ask for a 60 to 100 times zoom with a white light it will also help with harvesting at the proper time you can keep a eye on the color of the Crystals with it

while on spraying question to ask....where I live its mainly spider mites I deal with so no big problem if I stay on it...I havnt placed the seedling in its final resting spot yet but my question is ,should I treat the ground area and say 2 metre radius of the hole with treatment now (once the rain goes away and temps pick up again next week or so) ? just want to be on top of the mites this year and not give them a chance to even show up

spraying all these chemicals you guys are HACKS!
So let's see your grow..

Just because Maine doesn't have much issues with mites outdoors ( none the less russet mites ) doesn't mean these guys are hacks. It means they are on the front lines battling a new form of pest to MJ industry.
I'm sure if these pests ever migrate to the east we'll all be thankful this information is available.
Think about that next time before dising on some obviously very experienced growers that are trying thier hardest to save all thier hard work.
