You, like the guy who just got all butt hurt and called me an idiot, are asserting that a free market is the only thing that can be called capitalism and this is simply false. Yep, through government intervention, coercion and cronyism. It's actually the worst of both worlds. You left out the fact that hospital corporations also make out like bandits. Our health care is not free market and it's not completely socialized. It's the worst possible solution for bringing down costs.

So I did understand your post correctly, and it wasn't just the voices in my head...


So now that it went from me hearing voices to me actually calling it exactly like it was, you want to shift a bit and call our healthcare system socialist. The VA, yeah that is gov't run, gov't owned hospitals gov't paid doctors, and gov't provided medicine (not gov't made) and yes, nationalization is certainly a form of socialism. However, VA is not "our healthcare" as you put it. It's for former gov't employees, with medical issues stemming from gov't employment, and I might add that there are some people trying to privatize it.

Medicaid and medicare, while federally funded, are still sourced to private insurance and private hospitals. That's capitalism sweet heart.

I am a veteran, you do need to be a service connected disabled veteran in order to get free coverage at the VA and I don't ignore those, they are privatized.
