Tuition and Fees

    • Tuition for the 2014-15 school year is $10,200.00
    • Registration fee is $400.00
    • Activity fee is $300.00 for underclassmen, $600.00 for seniors
    • The cost to educate each of your sons will be approximately $13,800; the McCarthy scholarship, which every student receives, makes up the $2900.00 gap between your tuition & fees cost and the cost to educate your son.
    • There are three payment plans available for tuition: full payment, three-payment plan, and ten-payment plan.
I went to Marmion.
My kid went to another for 5 years by us.
Under funded. They actually closed her first school down and merged it wit another

maybe we should try to replicate the models of more successful nations before we toss our hands up and just do whatever the GOP tells us we need to do.

nah, that would never work. republicans are incapable of learning from success. they strive for failure.

you are a perfect example of this.
Another real racist heard from. Thanks for your input, Goebbels.

Why should a parent make a decision for their child when we have brilliant liars such as Jonathan Gruber to make those decisions for them?

How does Chicago achieve such dismal results, Goebbels? Why do you racists insist that poor children must be sacrificed to service your racist goals?

What a great wedge issue to peel off some votes for Republicans, if Republicans were smart enough to campaign on it: "We will pass school voucher legislation".

How would Democrats respond with that big union penis firmly in their throats. They have to oppose it to placate their union masters.

It would be fun to watch.

Better yet get coercive government out of it entirely. When they "give" a voucher, that is a misnomer, since they don't own the money, they don't own the right and they shouldn't own other peoples children.

Free market competition will reduce education costs and improve the product. Any system that purports to be doing a good job should not have to rely on ransom to ensure payment.
So far voucher schools are for the most part failing

I'm not in favor of voucher schools. They assume that government has the authority to first take money and then give it back if the recipient bows and shuffles correctly.

The best kind of education is one that isn't delivered via a coercive government. Coercive government INTENTIONALLY indoctrinates people and tells them WHAT to think, they are not interested in people learning HOW to think.

You really should check out the origin of the Public school system used in the USA today and why it was first instituted in Prussia.

So if school isn't coercive. How do you get kids to study?
What happens to those who fail because they weren't coerced enough?

You take their chains off first and remove the shackles from their parents too.

Kids hate public schools for a reason....they are unnatural.

Learning is natural, being indoctrinated violates the learning process. Babies and small children learn to speak a language simply by imitating and comprehending naturally.

..."weren't coerced enough? ...." They end up watching metal pieces spin around, drinking cold coffee and talking to Bigfoot on the internet.

So what tree they going to learn algebra from?

Algebra exists outside of public schools. Do you think that nobody can teach Algebra to those that want to learn it unless the student is forced to be there and his parents home is threatened with seizure?

Did algebra "get invented" by some C+ average state college graduate teacher and are they the only ones capable of teaching somebody algebra?

Wrong.
Home schoolers self select who takes the test.
"According to a report published by the Educational Resources Information Center (ERIC) and funded by the Office of Educational Research and Improvement, U.S. Department of Education, homeschool student achievement test scores were exceptionally high. The median scores for every subtest at every grade were well above those of public and Catholic/private-school students. On average, homeschool students in grades one to four performed one grade level above their age-level public/private school peers on achievement tests. Students who had been homeschooled their entire academic life had higher scholastic achievement test scores than students who had also attended other educational programs."

Maybe "we" should not make people ransom their homes to create a jobs program for teachers to indoctrinate children.

Don't you think "we" can teach children better than to threaten force against their parents if they fail to cough up the ransom money?

The GOP and the silly Democrats are both employing the same coercive indoctrination model. Somebody else holds the gun...you cough up the money...like it or not. Great way to teach kids Josef Stalin. Oh by the way the 10th plank of the Communist manifesto is government control of "cough cough...education"

Your freeloading ass doesn't mind a literate, educated populace until the bill comes due. Mooch.

BUT the key that has already been mentioned is.
Home schoolers taking the test were self selecting.
Meaning only the ones who thought they would do well took the test.

Comrade Buck, are you saying that the only way people can be educated is if they are involved in a captive system?

A captive system is the definition of indoctrination.

How is it that a person can be sent a bill if they didn't contract for the service?

If I sent you a bill for a service you did not agree to would you pay it?
