Which is an obvious flaw of the current MMPR program, as many small operations would flourish if given a chance...this would also help with options and availability as well.realistically how many small operations can make it in the mmpr world....
It has already shown us...that they want it an elite club of big companies....
Where can I fill my script with quality meds for under a dollar a gram? I appreciate your honesty. I really think a co-op type system is the way forward. Much like the designated growers of old times. No more dangerous grows in your house. There should be standards for grow rooms everyone has to meet. Until the bm and lp's start selling meds at realistic prices people will fight to grow their own. Expecting sick people to pay the same prices as everyone else on the bm (or worse from a lp) is asinine. All these lp's want to post a profit as fast as possible so they can get more investors. What the fuck does that have to do with SICK people accessing their meds? $15, $10, $5 a gram is no way representative of what it cost to grow. Even $5 a gram is so wildly over priced it's akin to ford selling a f-150 for $250000 because the goverment says they are the only ones allowed to sell trucks. Only cost them $10000 to build if that. Bm or worse prices for a legal substance is not sustainable.I just thought that I would comment on all of this. I am MMAR. I am also a wannabe LP and I believe in a patients right to grow. I applied to be an LP bc I love growing weed and helping ppl who are sick. The reality is - not everyone will want to grow there own so there needs to options for these patients. I'll be the first to agree that the current system is a joke and needs to be restructured. But we shouldn't hate on everyone that wants to become an LP - especially smaller organizations that will provide compassionate pricing. We are the ones that are in the patients corner - bc in many cases, we are patients ourselves.
I have said before that the mere fact that you want to be involved in the mess that is the MMPR is enough reason for mistrust among mmj patients. Out of all the applicants, how many small 'mom & pop' or 'sole proprietor' style LP's have been granted a license? The MMPR is designed for the big players and anyone without massive financial, legal and business investor backing is chasing a mirage. I don't doubt that many of the small wannabe's have an honest interest in helping patients, but their main goal is to become a for-profit business. There is nothing wrong with that, but the 'we care about the poor patient' line is getting really tired. As a mmar grower, you could easily and with very little risk of prosecution, sell your excess to a compassion club. That would help provide patients with affordable, quality medicine while aiding in the failure of the mmpr as a sole source of legal marijuana, and increasing the likelihood of the courts granting ALL patients the right to grow. And the money you make is tax free.I just thought that I would comment on all of this. I am MMAR. I am also a wannabe LP and I believe in a patients right to grow. It's not beating a dead horse. There are members here that daily proclaim mmpr is the only way for mmj users to access their meds. And make wildly inaccurate claims that mmj users buying meds from other sources will be arrested, loose custody of their kids, loose their houses and spend thousands of dollars fighting the charges in court. It's my civic duty to call bullshit ever time I see that posted. The people posting this nonsense all have alterior motives. I don't want to sell anything to anyone. Notice how there isn't one example of a canadian mmj user being charged for having meds obtained from a source other then a lp. I say thank you for all you've done for the sick and the poor under the mmar. I've yet to see anything from a lp that shows they care about anything other then profit. I can't and wont support anyone working for a lp. Small or large. I'm sorry but I cant and won't stop spreading the good word until no one is buying from lp's.I understand how frustrated the people are here towards the current LP's, this place is a way for them to vent their anger. Patients should be able to grow their own meds, period. But the wannabes here aren't the ones they should be ostersizing. I for one have mentored dozens of people in the last 5 years when I participated in the MMAR, teaching them how to provide for themselves so they didn't have to rely on me for there there meds. The wannabes here are genuine, and compassionate people who are looking to help patients that can't help themselves. Not everybody is able to grow for themselves. I volunteered in the MMAR and have given away hundreds of pounds to the people most in need. There needs to be an outlet for people who have no other means to source their meds. Why not me? I have been doing it for years, and have had many compliments and gratitudes payed to me. To lump all LP's in one category isn't fair, there are some good guys/gals out there, and once we get an opportunity to prove our selves, hopefully you will have a change of heart. Nobody here knows me, and to judge me because I have the skill and dedication to help others is just bad ju ju on you. I got thick skin, hate away, that's not going to change the fact that I will persue my dream to provide people with quality, tested, reasonably priced meds, for the people who choose to use my services. Like what I have been doing for the last 5 years. I love what I do, cultivating cannabis, it's in my blood. The wannabes here are all cannabis lovers first, I for one don't even own a suit, my motives are clear it's got nothing to do with money, and everything to do with caring and nuturing my garden, and the by product of that is helping others. By hating on us here will accomplish nothing, you should be channeling all that anger and hatred somewhere where it will make a difference, because we wannabes here aren't going anywhere, your stuck with us weather you like it or not. You always have the option of the ignore button, if you don't want to hear what we are saying, so give it a rest. We get it! Your beating a dead horse to death.

Who's to say we're not providing it now for free? Assuming that we are all in it for big profits is a joke. I've been growing for patients for years and I am definitely not profiting off anyone - if anything, the oppositeI have said before that the mere fact that you want to be involved in the mess that is the MMPR is enough reason for mistrust among mmj patients. We are coming at this from opposite ends and I don't think we'll ever agree on this issue. This increase in posts bashing LP's comes in the lead up to the court hearing on Monday. There were an equal number of posts from LP's attacking the patients for not embracing the MMPR and thier grandiose business plans, attacking mmar patients for 'abusing the system' etc. If you go back to posts from Feb. and March of this year, you would see the same thing. It will happen again in Jan. & Feb. Lp's are synonymous with HC in most patients eyes, and perceived as deserving of our distrust and criticism for that very fact. This forum is for patients, so I don't think you can expect to have a thread that runs counter to the goals of the vast majority and not expect opposition. I would contact RIU about a forum for LP's if you want someplace to go without criticism. Or just shut the fuck up.End of rant.I never take offence, it's the Internet. Everybody here has the right to speak their mind. Dialogue can be productive. But to constantly bash members of this community isn't going to solve anything. We are all on the same page here, we are a pro patient/cannabis community. I just think some people should direct their energy somewhere else if they want to have an impact on the system/government, the true enemy. They are preaching to the choir here. It makes a very unpleasant place to visit, I feel I have a lot to offer to this community and so do the other wannabes, it's to your advantage to have us around. We are a wealth of knowlage, good or bad. I have been personally attacked and insulted by some of the members here, It's very childish and immature and I lost all respect for them, my solution was to give them the iggy button. Problem solved. If they don't like what I have to say they should do the same. Or just shut the fuck up. End of rants.
Peace.

You may very well be giving it away for free now out of the goodness of your heart, but I doubt it. You stated you were a wannabe, therefore you are in it for profit. No one would spend 10's if not hundreds of thousands of $ and not expect a return on investment. The fact is, no LP without very deep pockets and generous investors will survive. Your investors or bankers are not going to look favourably on a business plan that provides for no, or minimal profit.Who's to say we're not providing it now for free? Yes, you have mine. The LP/MMPR is worse than an insult, so was the MMAR.
I was part of the MMAR and am a LP wanna be, I dont agree with much of the regulations and laws we are forced to abide by, but I do my best to put the needs of Canadians who chose to use cannabis as a medicine above those of HC and our Government.
Can one be a LP or wanna be LP and still earn the trust and respect of the medical users?
