The other thing (And this is my preference) is when you harvest to trim the fan leaves only and leave everything else then hang the plants to dry in a dark place until the outside of the buds are dry to the touch but the stems and still bendable, then trim and jar with burping daily making sure that the buds keep drying on the outside to the touch then recap jars. Do this until the buds are consistently and evenly cured and smokeable. Just takes time

Yeah man. I'm sure I'm gonna smoke 1 bud way too early before it's properly cured just out of excitement, but I'm gonna make sure I take the time to cure them properly.

Just added a heater to my cloner since clones like warmth to promote roots. I'm also gonna tie down some of my larger plants so they don't get too tall. They stretched a lot in this first week of flower.

No new clones are showing roots :(

but the ones that had roots already have lots of new roots thanks to that heater! 77 degrees is good for clones, and my water was down at 65 so they weren't too happy.

This just made me start to laugh. Nobody can really explain stretch to a person but once you've seen it, you know what it is. Tie em down now with prejudice cause wk 2 is just as bad as the 1st.
Looks real good keep up the good work.

Yeah no kiddin man... Do they still get taller after the stretch? I assume so since the buds probably add height... I tied the taller ones down so I could have a more uniform height but I think I might need to take them all lower... I've only got about 18" left on the light hangers.

But then what happens when the wet buds add pounds of weight to the branch, and the branch is bent all funky? Isn't that gonna make them sag or break?

Damn dude. Just snapped 1 of the two top branches on 2 of my plants... Wasn't even pullin em down that far either..... I put some tape on the wounds though so it'll heal. Then I'll give em another shot at LST.

Pinch where ever you want to make the bend

if you pinch gently you can feel a slight pop like bubble wrap
Just dobt pinch hard enough to break the skin

remeber duct tappe or specialty plant tape is crucial to keep near by for mishaps

hope this helps

Yeah man I just happened to have a roll of duct tape there and I went oh S#!T!!! and put some duct tape to hold the branch up. Happened once before and the plant recovered just fine.

And I'll try the pinching. Thanks!

EDIT: Just added some more duct tape to the breaks, and pinched the branch to bend it and tied em down. And man it's crazy how quick they recover from LST. The ones I bent down a couple hours ago are already turned back straight up!

Yeah man, I'll think about picking some up... But hopefully I won't need it that often anyways!

Anyways, quick update. The water in my cloner got low so one of my rapid rooters dried out completely and the roots were brown and looked dead. I topped up the water and she seems to have recovered just fine. The roots plumped back up and turned back white, and the plant straightened up so she'll be fine! I also gave up on the 8 unrooted clones and cut 8 new ones. I made some super crap clone sleeves out of styrofoam, so they're set up in a ghetto bubbleponics. I need to order some neoprene sleeves before too long...

Updates!

Here's my clones in my bubble cloner (basically DWC).
100_2694.JPG
Roots on the left 5 plants. Those are the 5 that rooted in the rapid rooters. I threw out the other 8 that weren't rooting because they just didn't seem healthy. These 5 really should be transplanted but I don't want the others to fall too far behind.

Here's the stems on the 8 replacement clones. I made some crappy sleeves out of styrofoam. They were taken 5 days ago I think when the donor plants were in 7 days of flower, so there is a little revegging, but not much.

And now what you really wanna see! Here's the girls in the tent. 12 days of flower

You can see what the LST has done. I leveled out the canopy quite a lot!

And here's a couple bud shots.

Well I got anxious and transplanted the 5 rooted clones into 2 liter hempy's. The 8 other clones are in an aeroponic cloner that I made out of a bucket and a cheap pond pump. It's a very temporary setup, so we'll see how it works. I'm giving them 1 week to show roots, and if they don't I'll top the 5 I already have and flower those.

Do you guys think I should do some trimming of the lower fan leaves, or should I just let them go and do what they do?

Also, will I ever be able to remove the LST ties? or do they need to stay on until harvest?

What do you guys think? Should I trim the lower stuff off? Will there be enough light penetration with the 1000w to make them grow or are they a waste of nutrients?

Just some bud shots! Didn't wanna turn the HPS off, but you get the idea anyway.

But after 10 days most of the clones are dying and none are showing any sign of roots, so I think I'm gonna give up on them and just pick my 2-3 healthiest rooted clones and put them in like 2 gallon hempies and scrog them.
