yep that is what i do

u feed until flush the flush removes it all from the roots ........sometime i will give 1 day of light then 2 of darkness to make sure i am not cutting when the plant is full of water ..... i am soil in air bags

but after u flush u let it dry up the roots have nothing to intake but water and before they grow out and intake from soil u cut it

during the 7 days of drying the plant is pulling the left over food in water into the buds and they are being used until it drys out

And you don't get a harsh chemical flavor burn from that? And I was planning to wet trim my buds, so I don't know if they'll still use up the nutes during drying like you say


Damn, just checked my buds with my little magnifier and all the trichomes are cloudy and some are turning amber. And my carbon filter SUCKS, so it's starting to stink. I have no choice but to chop the plants and get them drying. Trust me, I really wish I could try all the things you're suggesting, but I can't risk it.

dont wet trim your buds ever man.. iv tryed both ways and you wanna just remove those big fans and hang them bitches upside down as a whole plant you keep so much more aroma that way and also if you start snipping sugar leaves you are likely to release chlorophyll over your buds and get that nasty hay smell.. hang them up with a dehumidifier on 7 days boom then manicure them

Trimming dry sounds like a pain in the ass though. Don't the leaves crack and stick to the trichomes and everything? From what I understand, you don't even HAVE to trim buds, it's just for bag appeal?

yeah you are right in a sense.. but to be fair if you get the technique right its not bad at all and you will thank me for it in the long run.. much more smell and that comes down to bag appeal and overall less curing necessary. Some may disagree as i do actually see alot of professional growers trimming wet but give it a go and you will not be sorry i guarantee it.

Hey, is it safe to leave my buds in a bin just stacked together for like 8 hours? As in will the moisture be too high and cause mold or will I be okay?

Depends on how much and how dry/wet they are why would you want to do that anyway?

Freshly cut, and I have to dry in the same tent I grew in, so I have to cut them, trim them, set up the drying rack, and hang the buds. And I have to take a break tonight so I have to keep the buds in the storage tote for the night.

Put a layer of brown paper bag paper between each layer with a gap between each bud. You'll be fine for a few hours.
Start with paper then layer of bud. Not touching, small gap. Then paper, then bud.

Well if scissor hash is anything to judge by, this is some good bud! I hit just a little bit of it last night in a home made steam roller and it burned such a thick white smoke and it was so smooth! It didn't hurt my throat at all. I took 1 good hit and it hit me instantly and I could barely walk!

you chopped less than a week ago and you think you over dried them? If your air has been circulating around the drying buds quickly, it will whisk away the moisture from the exterior of the buds, causing more of the carbons to remain because they break down slowly (fizzling, crackling, dry hot taste) while the interior of the buds have retained their moisture and the buds will not be dried evenly.

I don't think you over dried them- but maybe could turn the fans lower, let the humidity raise some, exchange the air in the room a Bit less, and allow the moisture to even out in there....... if you wanted....

Lost 1/2 or maybe even 2/3 of my crop to fucking spider mites. I have NO CLUE where they came from. I was checking for them during all of flower and they were just fine. Now today I go to chop up my buds to cure and boom, all my most dense buds are just furry inside... Yielded 10oz off the good buds that weren't infested.

Edit: after looking at it some more it seems that it's actually mold, which is a lot more believable. Guess I didn't have enough circulation and my humidity was too high.

Yupp, that's exactly right. Not enough air circulation and too high of humidity. At least learning the lesson the hard way means I will never forget it....

One quick question about the first picture… are the upper leaves heat stressed or is that curling standard for a flowering plant (the mid and bottom leaves don't seem to be doing it)?

I'm honestly not sure. The canopy wasn't warm at all from what I could feel, but others have suggested it was heat stress. So I'm not sure if it was just from late flower, or if it was heat stress.
