E$kobar Genetics

My pheno doesn't need any it seems to do it itself almost the way it grows. I didn't top it the first time I ran it and got a very large bush with quite a few tops. However I had to stick it in my vert setup because it got too tall for my gavitas.

This second go I didn't top but I did do some LST. Very LST. I am going to be installing a screen to bend the plants through so I can keep it under the gavita. I think it's going to work out nicely. There's a lot of larf on the bottoms to clean up. The branching is truly kind of insane on this plant. Under the T5's the nodes grew like a millimeter apart. So far it's forming a decent canopy that I think will be easy to manage.
Holy smokes :D sounds like fun man! This GDP has me sittin here just listening to music and browsing for new strains lololol. I have a box full of like 30 sttrains that I plan on growing and I still can't fight that damn itch.

I've grown out two full packs of E$kobar's seeds, Cheeseberry, and Chucky's Bride.

Cheeseberry
Cheeseberry bud.jpg

I found the Cheesberry to be a little lacking, despite it's beautiful appearance, smell, and taste. The tall sativa pheno, pictured above, smelled exactly like blueberry muffins once it was cured. As much excitement as the smell evoked from those who inhaled her bouquet, everyone always seemed let down after smoking her, with a universal "That's it?" sort of feeling. It was an up, happy, kind of smoke, but just not quite happy enough.
In contrast, he short indica pheno I had was more potent, and good for using before going to sleep. That girl smelt like blueberries and skunk. She was a very slow vegger, and was a moderate yielder, at best.
I wouldn't neccasarily recommend Cheeseberry, it's not bad, but there is just so much better stuff out there, even if you factor in it's low price.

Chucky's Bride

I was much more pleased with Chucky's Bride and what she brought to the table. The pineapple C-99 male he uses in this cross is ridiculous; the smell, and taste, are outstanding. The sativa pheno I had, pictured above, was very vine like in growth. She would get very stretchy in flower, but I always found a way to make it work, because she was worth it. The effect was a happy, social, kind of high, and fairly potent, too. Everybody loved this girl, and she was always the belle of the ball, at every party she attended. I would definitely recommend this strain, hand down, for sure.

I still would like to try his Chocolate Rain someday, as I hear great things about it, and I do love a good Chocolope. E$kobar is a very competent breeder, but I do think he needs to freshen his genetic stable up a bit, and bring in some more potent cuts. I like his work, but he has to realize, that the stuff coming from the West Coast of the USA these days is incredible. I don't want to see him get left behind, with the Dutch, and other old world breeders.

Thanks for the info OG. I just crossed Holy Princess off of my list. :-)

I have a pack of Esko's Cheeseberry Haze that I'll eventually get to. I like(d) the looks of the Blue Rocket and Choco Rain as well, but after reading the comments in this thread maybe Chucky is the only one worth pursuing??

Right, I forget that that was a mix of both. Post up your thoughts on chuckys bride.
I did sort of a review in the link I left in the last post [New Harvest Pics.....], but Bad Karma's is right on the money. I've ran 4 total, with very little variation in growth and finish time - all were beasts, and big yielders. As he notes, it's a favorite of everyone that smokes it, including me.

Great review.

I just finished up 2 Holy Princess and 2 Ladycane. The HP was pretty frost and very chunky and both were uniform and consistent. The 2 LC were totally different. The taste and smell is amazing and the HP is a good daytime smoke. not too potent but perfect for doing things and getting shit done. I rather enjoy it but it is definitely not going to knock you down. I found that the LC's were more potent but didn't taste as good, the smell didn't seem to improve much with the cure and the buds were not as dense. I don't know what it is but I love dense, solid nugz.

I still have a bunch more of his gear to run.

Sounds about like my experience with HP.

this is good to know about HP. as I have been wanting to try some of his strains. I got the freebee blue santa x c99 .... which is basically HP x blueberry.... hopefully this will be potent and flavorful.

I have to say the last pheno of Holy Princess is notably better than the rest of them. It yields more. It is notably frostier and the strength is better. The high of this strain is really excellent. Puts you in a great mood, makes you feel great. I only ran one pack and found a winning phenotype. It will stick around a few runs and maybe longer than that.

the holy princess and chuckys bride have been on my list...
I am running the sugarpunch, am i'm not totally that impressed with it, but it was the "second" sugarpunch, not the first run sannie did, it looks ok, but nothing spectacular, now the jackberry X mad scientist freebie... Well then,,, that girl has the weirdest smell, very fruity, sorts juicy fruity-ish kinda like the jack herer only with a whooooole lot of other smells that I simply can't describe, I have two phenos, and they both look WAY better than the sugarpunch, and they are further from the light too.
been growing for decades and I've never smelled anything like this.
Probably about 20 days from finish on that one, and if it smokes anything like it smells it's a keeper.
Hmm, actually now that I think about it, I think neither the jackberry or the mad scientist is e$kobar...
My bad.. either way though, if you guys get any sannie stuff, I recommend the jackberry X MS freebie

I've ran a few of e$kobar's strains...chocolate rain ,lots of chocolate, phenos were identical Christmas tree yielders; blueberry× chemdog d, DANK; vanilla something, I forget the name, but it was solid. My most recent run with his gear was blueberry sativa, a IX of Dj Shorts True Blueberry. Strain would easily go 84 days, yield was tremendous, flavor was blueberry funk, high was devastating! Probably the most potent strain I ran last year...fire! I also ran cheeseberry and a few others I'm forgetting. This was like 2010 I believe.

JBxMS is a weird smell. I have some curing now. Only thing that sucks is the yield. But I'm growing under a 1000w horizontal now. It didn't care for the vertical grow room at all.

it IS a weird smell huh.
never smelled anything like it before, and mine seem to be a medium yielders so far, prob have at least 3 weeks to finish, and I like my herb ripe so I may even go longer.
I REALLY like the smell though, can't wait to see if it translates to the taste.
Are you running an organic setup?

right on man, i'm an organic nerd so I got that whole thing going..
Smells SO intense though, I've grown probably... hmmm maybe 60 or 70 diff strains in my life, maybe more, and this one is 100% different than any of them, the closest would be a jack Herer, but that is only like maybe 30% of the smell, a teensy bit of juicy fruit.. but the rest is so weird. I hope the potency is there, from what I hear of the jackberry its more for taste.
We will see in about a month or so, maybe longer

I agree. I am still trying to figure the smell out. It is getting worse in the jars! Lol. The Kandy Kush I have by E$cobar reeks like crazy. It is hanging up now.
