I hate most my neighbors , they think cause they have money their better than everybody else , they dont like me much either , the only reason we stay here & dont sell the place is it was my fathers home before he died & its full of his stuff , we have a much smaller home outside Frankenmuth that i prefer , my wife likes it here so this is where we spend half the year .

I think Grand Rapids has became the wealthiest city in Michigan , its night & day from the detroit area which im only 15 minutes away from .

Rough neighborhood do a quick google on Bloomfield Hills Michigan home pics & prices to see where we live in winter, the cops here drive Cadillac Escalades , you can buy a spacious 1 bdrm palace on 1\4 acre here for $500k , we have a nearly 5,000 sq ft home on 6.5 acres , cops are just dicks .

I know exactly where you are, grew up west side and downriver.

A friend of mine had a landscaping company and asked me to help him one weekend to finish a job, his son was sick. Talk about being treated like "the help". I was a long hair and that didn't go well in that area. My friend was from Rochester Hills too, not exactly 8 mile, but working outside was not for the BH crowd. ("I almost stepped on a pebble you left in the driveway, please be more careful, we are paying good money")

I also had a summer job at Joy rd and Schaefer, talk about polar opposites. Like you said, 15 minutes away, but also worlds away.

I would love to afford where you live, that's high rent district fersher. I consider Frankenmuth to be "quaint". Nice getaway place. Great fudge and taffy lol. Got a cousin in Traverse city, that place has really grown on me over the years too, it's not really the MI you and I know.

Hope the cancer that is Wayne Co (I can say that, it's where I grew up) doesn't spill over into Oakland Co for your sake.

I disagree. Brown was just a rally point for a deeply ingrained collective sentiment. Ferguson was bound to have these problems. The almost all white police force has an established pattern of discrimination against the majority black and poor community. The institutional racism is not only apparent but also particularly enraging when yet another white cop kills yet another unarmed black person. I agree that Brown was endangering his life with his behavior but he is not the poster child of "black lives matter" he is the martyr of "fuck the police".

It was not so long ago that there were white lynch mobs and black people being hanged and burned alive in ISIS proportions. People are pissed off for a reason and Mike Brown has little to do with it. Similarly, Rodney King had little to do with the Los Angeles riots of 1991 aside from people who were already pissed off about institutional racism finding themselves taking part in a nationally televised debate.

Yup its fucked up , its all about profiling here in Bloomfield Hills , im tatooed with full sleeves , STRIKE ONE ,my entire back & the top of my chest are covered with tats as well & i shave my head bald STRIKE 2 , We ride Harleys so we stick the fuk out ,my wife is Lebanese & wears ethnic clothing alot of the time so we look like a freak show in this area .

I was convicted of manufacturing a controlled substance with intent to distribute ( Growing mj ) & did 2 yrs in Jackson prison ,STRIKE 4.

My wife has a CCW permit to carry a handgun & cops see that on their computer & know were armed at all times , STRIKE 5.

Ever since i got out of prison cops act like im a monster , when they run my plate it comes up code Alpha Victor on their computer which a polite cop told me means violent offender , possibly armed , approach with extreme caution , im nearly 63 yrs old who the hell am i gonna beat up , a 12 yr old ? i havent got in trouble in 35 yrs & cops dont care all they see is a dope dealer .

Every traffic stop is like a tv show where they order me out of the car with guns drawn & make me lay face down then cuff me , thats for a speeding ticket ! & 100% legal for them to do to protect their saftey .

I actually accept part of the blame for the way they approach me at 1st cause of my violent past but im an old man now , once they see i havent been in trouble for 35 yrs & am no danger to them there is no reason to dog me out but they still do , my past gives them a reason to fuk with me & their commando attitude compels them to hammer me as hard as possible & treat me like shit , no matter how polite i am to them .

Back in the 70's it wasnt cool for a white man to marry a woman of color so we both caught hell for that , i had a cop tell my wife STFU stupid Sand Nigger & i got arrested for telling him if he wasnt a cop i'd rip his fukin head off ,up till the late 80's we were treated like lepers , it eased up in the late 80's quite a bit then 9/11 happened & my wife was a monster to them again .

Cops disrespect my wife every chance they get & she's never broken 1 law since coming to the USA , she speaks 3 language's & earned a Masters degree in education while here & loves the US but she is terrified of our police , she say's our police remind her of the police in Beirut where she grew up , that in itself is very telling , Arabic races are extremely oppressed in the burbs of Detroit .

I lived at telegraph and ford rd area when desert storm went on. Made me sick how some friends were treated. Lived in Ga during the 9/11 thing and while those people were bad, it was nothing compared to what I witnessed first hand in MI.

I'm sure you know exactly where I'm talking about and can imagine how the party stores in that area were attacked.

It really is a beautiful area where you are, sucks the cops are like that there. Remember when the Dearborn police were given all of those Continentals donated by Ford? The cops got a bit arrogant for awhile like they had purchased them themselves.

Yup Rochester is another white upper middle class stronghold , i buy all my hifi equipment at a shop in Rochester .

I would prefer to stay at our home outside Frankenmuth yr round , its 2,000 sq ft less than this home & was our full time home before my father left us this big ass place , i never feel truly at home here , since it was my dad's i cant sell it & my wife loves it cause she can get around the house on her lil scooter better than the other house .

If it were up to me we'd live at the country place forever , i get fuked with alot less up there & dont stick out cause there alot of bikers that ride the area .

I could grow 100 plants outdoors up there & nobody would say a word , were going back up in April for 6 months then we'll come back to the city in October .

I've had police in my house three times in the past month. They were here to do their job; make sure that no criminal activity was taking place, that there was no threat to the community and to keep the peace.

I'm not a thug. When they asked me pointed questions about my large and visible collection of marijuana, I was honest; A. It's part of my research project and B. I CAN'T legally sell it, so here it sits!

They stopped by again yesterday to ensure that I was in compliance with state law and local ordinance, and I gave them the run of the house. They looked around, confirmed that I was in compliance and were in such a hurry to leave that they didn't even want to speak with my lawyer, whom I'd made available to answer their questions from the day before.

In other words, they're just trying to do their job. They're in the firing line between laws that make no sense and people who don't know whether they can be trusted, and that makes for a tough day behind the badge.

They tested me with respect because I treated them that way, I'm sure of it.

Does this make me 'pro cop'? A 'police advocate'?

I can say this much; imagine what our cities would look like if there weren't any police, with informal vigilante groups roaming around and thugs who don't care whom they abuse having free reign. That's called 'anarchy' and I'm no fan of that.

Colorado is in the midst of an experiment in marijuana legalization, and I found myself in the position of being something of an ambassador for all of us on RIU and elsewhere who just want to grow our own and be left alone. If I had treated them as enemies, what would that say about all of us?

Yes, I took a calculated risk by letting them in a month ago to look around. What was the likely outcome of refusing them? I'm willing to bet there would have been a search warrant, an arrest (mine!) and lots of nasty charges I'd have had to fight off.

Treating them with respect, recognizing they have a job to do and assuring them that they and I are on the same side- one of peaceable coexistence with neighbors and community- and that I'm doing my best to follow the letter and the spirit of all applicable laws, got me their respect.

should just start a facebook page about it. They will have to take facebook to court to find out who the page creator is. facebook wont give up that info unless ordered nto. Atleast thats how it happend to a guy I know who was ripped of by a company. They had very shady business practices. It eventually started getting hits and the company tried to get the page taken down but was protected under free speech. No slandering was being dont people just started telling their stories one after another. it was a domino effect. Just a suggestion. You have to live there if things dont go as planned but I would still think they would need a court order to remove it or disclose who the creator is. we as citizens have much more leverage now that we have the net. You see what happens when the media blows shit up. Crooked cops are the new favorite story to hear about!
