Hypocrisy Thy Name Is Union - Unions Demand Exemption From LA's $15 Minimum Wage

Maybe, maybe not....that is not the issue. The issue to me is the hypocrisy of the left. It's OK for folks like unions, Hillary Clinton, Obamas and the rest of the cronies to say one thing and do another, but let one conservative change their mind or be caught in some hypocritical action and lefties come unglued.

"Labor leaders, who were among the strongest supporters of the citywide minimum wage increase approved last week by the Los Angeles City Council, are advocating last-minute changes to the law that could create an exemption for companies with unionized workforces."

Lieing and cheating and pointing fingers is the way of the left.
I dont subscribe to left or right on a hard line , i try to look at each issue for what it is , not what the left or right says , if I lean to the left on an issue its because of what i think is right not a party line .

The unions wanting to negoiate on their own can be looked at as hypocrisy, or it can be looked at as to what the proposed wage law will take away from their workers who's TOTAL pay package exceeds the $15 an hour proposal .

I dont care about political lines i care about union workers not loosing anymore than they allready have .

Unions are also why 3 workers didn't die making that $35,000 truck.
That's not worth an extra $20,000 of my hard-earned money. At least not to me. Which is why I never buy new trucks. And I kinda think it's becoming a trend.

Which is why me and a few million other Americans have to bail Detroit's fucking ass out of bankruptcy every few years.

Unions do have a place, I agree. But they've went way too far in getting people paid $40 per hour for remembering each day how to turn a fucking wrench and push buttons on machines.

The Politics forum is a shit stain on RIU....and potroast knows it. I assume it stays because it drives up activity counts.

Maybe it stays because admin enjoys viewing the angry drama plays, and the filth. Hoo nose what drives one's choices and personality?

Speaking of hypocrisy and political correctness, why is it OK for blacks to toss out "nigger" on TV, Facebook, Twitter and other media but it's not OK to drop the word in this forum?

Pretty lame if you ask me, and shallow.
Ive been saying the politics forum here is out of control & agree its a mess & should be imploded , or at the very least moderated , fairly ,ive posted in several threads that riu is a political platform for hard core left & its allowed to be the shit stain of riu by the admin ,ive also pointed out the blatant favoritism bestowed on a select group of hard core political leftys here who's main intent is to start fights .

Your asking the wrong person about political correctness , its over played here as well as in real life , you cant ban words for some & not all , unnecessary melodrama is what it is & ive called it out many many times .

I also agree its highly hypocritical that white people can constantly be slandered here , called ignorant out of control crackers with the admins obvious approval, the politics forum here is so biased it can be nothing but hypocritical.

I look at shit one post at a time .

In LA there are freaking unions everywhere. To be a secretary working for the county, you'll join a union. Nurses, taxi drivers, etc etc. There are many minimum wage entry level union jobs in LA. Just saying.
And this is bad exactly how .

Who can afford to buy a house anymore on the non union wages they get , wouldnt it be better for the economy of more people could afford to buy & maintain homes other than the less than 10% union workforce in America ?

The construction industry as proven that unions do not cause the cost of product to rise , union contractors have to bid against much lower paid workers from non union shops yet they are still alive , if the union workers higher pay package was the key cost issue then all construction unions would be belly up which isnt the case .

you're not into the military budget?..sheesh! thought that's what every rightie circle jizzes over..

it's called 'spin'..it's nothing more than spirited debate proving that those of the right are hypocrites (good debaters are two steps ahead of you, it's part of the game)..i just happen to be smart enough to leverage this valuable insight..and @Uncle Ben will be watching 'the five' again on monday spewing the same lie about the ACA that I just corrected him on..go figure!:wall:
No, it's changing the subject. Just like Sarah Palin did on every question she was asked in her vice presidential debate against Joe Biden. So you and Sarah Palin have some things in common. :)

I love spirited debates. I can debate without name-calling. And when I do occasionally get into an argument with someone, I'm fine the next day. I don't hold grudges. And I rarely get mad anyway.

That being said, you and anybody else who think all "righties" are hypocrites are sadly mistaken. There are hypocrites on both sides, and good people on both sides. Your insistence that the right is mostly bad, and the left is mostly good, is completely garbage.

Many liberals just don't know how to practice what they preach in terms of tolerance. They demand tolerance but are many times unwilling to give it.

That's NOT to say that all liberals are like that, because they're not.

I gotta go to the grocery store now...

I am not sure either way but this post made me instantly wonder if it were Unions or OSHA that is more responsible for why 3 workers didnt die...

just looked this up...

Before OSHA was created 43 years ago, an estimated 14,000 workers were killed on the job every year. Today, workplaces are much safer and healthier, going from 38 fatal injuries a day to 12. But there is still much work to be done.

Did a quick google on deaths before and after Unions and it doesnt show what I am looking for on the first page and I am not going to look hard and far for the information.

If I buy a $55,000 truck that is only truly worth about $35,000, then yes I would pay the extra $20,000.
BMW is an exclusively non union built automobile & ya see what their sticker prices are .

How about the dozens on non union auto makers in the southern states making cars & trucks who's sticker price is on par or higher than like model union built cars & trucks ?

Your statement that trucks are priced too high due to union labor costs dont hold an ounce of water .

While were bitching about over priced items where is your outrage at the lack of affordable new built housing for the working class ?

Non union workers build over 90% of the residential housing in America , workers rarely make over $15 an hour at max yet the final product does not reflect the extremely low wages paid to the builders , cost of product is out of the reach of most working class .

Corporate profit margins are at an historical all time high but union labor is to blame for high prices , makes no sense at all .

unions are older than OSHA..unions only cover their specific 'local #'..not everyone gets to have a union option..OSHA is an actual government entity that covers everyone..before unions there were many deaths and maimings with no equitable payout from the company.

Well it would seem that information would be easy to find, but for some reason the OSHA stats are right in your face and Union stats are not.
