Before OSHA was created 43 years ago, an estimated 14,000 workers were killed on the job every year. Today, workplaces are much safer and healthier, going from 38 fatal injuries a day to 12. But there is still much work to be done.

Did a quick google on deaths before and after Unions and it doesnt show what I am looking for on the first page and I am not going to look hard and far for the information.

Wow what a great post , you are 100% correct in your assumption that OSHA was the driving force behind increased worker saftey & the decline of on the job fatalitys/injurys , unions didnt invent safer work pratices but once implemented by OSHA the unions not only embraced the new saftey requirements in most cases & in all construction related unions went far above OSHA requirements .

This is something the ABC anti union construction lobby cant claim , the large non union companys regulary skirt saftey regulations ,or down right blow them off in favor of the if you fall your fired before you hit the ground approach to saftey , my job as site Superintendent put me in direct contact with union & scab contractors , i have had to shut down dozens of non union contractors for non compliance & some ive had thrown off the project & revoked their contract for gross non compliance .

The most telling figures showing if the union work environment truly is safer than its non union counterpart are the fines issued by OSHA each year , fines represent negligence twords worker saftey , the overwhelming majority of fines issued by OSHA are to non union companys & you can easily verify that fact .

Scab shops know its cheaper to disregard saftey measures & fight any fines imposed by osha than it is to implement saftey protocols which slow productivity , its a game of numbers with the scabs , if their team of pencil necks deem it cheaper to allow a worker to die & then get a reduction of fines from osha rather than implementing osha mandates which slow production then the workers saftey allways comes last with the scabs .

The disproportionate number of fines imposed against non union shops is the most telling statistic to show what is saving lives .

As opposed to the time honored & muslim state sponsored molestation of children as young as one year old , the father is allowed to contractually sell his female child for sexual servitude for a single day to any man he pleases , its called day marrige , its an islamic tradition & state approved .
