Ah yes, i have been following. Heck i still have my old ass 400LE's laying around somewhere. If you can tell a difference in smoke after harvest, then i respect your hard work and findings. Whats funny for me is i actually started with cmh/mh and ended up with HPS. If possible, i wouldnt mind to look at other plants grown under MH/CMH vs a sister clone grown under an HPS with the same soil, pot size and nutes. Both plants must have pics taken under the same exact bulb for observation purposes both bulbs should or should not have a glass hood for observation purposes. Its a tricky comparison with some strains and definetly not worth the yield cut and extra electricity IMO with strains like (blue dream) ect. But hey nothing wrong with trying to maximize quality, we may or may not learn something here and i wish you the best of luck!
In a perfect world, yes. My noticing less trich development on my HPS run was not during a test for trich development. In the sense that most important discoveries happen by chance, that adds some legitimacy. The difference, at least with my strain (classic Bubblegum Kush that's been being cloned for over 20 years) was obvious and I did not like it. So who am I to believe? My own eyes or what a little yellow flying monkey tries to brow beat people with?
Most the other variables you mention were close albeit separate grows. (Same strains, same medium, same nutes, same room, same veg light). That said, there were differences that would fail this as a true test (something like you describe) so the testing continues. The only other thing I would add is to suggest you go walk through
@RM3 's journal. He certainly seems to dial in trich development in many strains and I believe he would tell you his lights are one of the main keys...if not THE main key. Off to trim....
