i have my plants on my balcony in (not so sunny denmark) and all of them have turned hermi on me, pretty sure its from the indoors ligts beeing on at night time ( and me beeing to lazy to turn down the shutters) just a little heads up so you could avoid it

Here's an update on progress. Keep in mind that it's growing 24/0 in Scott's Potting Soil (7-1-3), and its first day above ground was 8/20/08...so it's only 8 days old.

Don't worry about what seems to be apparent yellowing of the leaves in the overhead picture...I took the picture as the sun was rising, and if you look closely, you can actually see the serrated shadow separating the "green" and "yellow" parts of the leaf.

My avatar is me smoking with my late best friend. I knew that cat since we weren't old enough to be little jits. We smoked our first blunt together, and we always had each other's backs (no homo). lol
So check it out, me in him were here in Tampa, smokin' a blunt. We called up James Dungy not too long before he died...I think it was around like midnight to 1. We were like:

Yieaou! (pronounced just as it's read...YEE-ah-oh-ooh) You should come krill on this blunt! We in da whip!"

lol He ended up telling us he had just gotten off of work, and he was tired. He said he'd give us a call tomorrow and we'd do blunch. The next day, my best friend called me at 11:20 and told me to turn on the news, and I told him I couldn't because I was at my desk, not the break room. I asked him what was on the news, and he told me, "Bro, James is dead."

Well...not too long ago, my best friend died the same way. So Squalex and Scranny are krillin' on a blunt in my avatar.

No, I have a 2-feet wide ledge that sticks out from the "floor-to-ceiling" windows. The bottom glass comes up to about my waist, and though it isn't a problem to put my young one out there, I don't plan on doing this when it gets older and is transplanted into a 5- or 10-gallon pot. It's a LONG way down.

I weigh my plant every day, and with soil, water, plant, pot and water catcher, it's usually between 1750 and 2000 g, depending on how long it's been since I've watered it.

Right now, the big one weighs about 15-20kg with soil, water, pot, plant, and catcher.

Here's what I think you were trying to say, so correct me if I'm wrong:

Here's the problem...my CFL is a ceiling light in my closet, and my 2 incandescents are ceiling lights in my room.

Why did you use the phrase "top up to 18 hours"? What does "top up" mean?

She's only been above ground since the 20th, and her first day in the sunlight was on 8/23, but she didn't get much time in the sun since it started to rain, and I had just watered. Since then, this has been her schedule.

8am - 7pm -- Sunlight
7pm - 12am -- 2 60w incandescent bulbs (with a fan)
12am - 8am -- 1 32w CFL (with a fan)

So far, she seems to be liking the long days in the sun, but the days are getting shorter by a minute-and-a-half per day. According to www.timeanddate.com, today's "length of day" will be 12 hours, 51 minutes, and in a week (9/1/0 it'll be 12 hours, 41 minutes...so if anything, she's getting less time in the sun each day.

and what im saying is you are doing 24 hr light, alot of people inc me believe that 6 hrs dark is good for the plant im saying maybe it would be better to just do 18 hrs light, and giving it the different light spectrums may stress it out so you could try using just the 32w CFL to start then when the plant gets taller keep the CFL over the top and put the 2 60w at either side of it.

you could even build a box with the bulbs mounted as mentioned above and have an open side facing the window (so it benefits from the sun). and put ur lights on a timer.

mmm im not convinced it will grow as well as it would if you just put it under light for 18 hours, for veg you could grow it under the cfl adding the other 2 when it gets bigger. or if you have nice weather put it in the window then top up to 18 hours with the lights. keep ur 6hr night period.

Punctuaton. Spelling. Grammar. It's not my fault that I abide by a simple set of rules and you don't. Do you realize that you could separate the first sentence into two separate sentences that would make a LOT more sense if you used a PERIOD instead of a COMMA?

Americans don't use the term "top up", just like we don't use the term "lift" for "elevator". We DO have prepaid phone cards which can be "recharged", "refilled" or even "replenished", but I've never heard of anyone referring to it as "topping up."

If you told me to "put it in the sun for however long, then COMPENSATE with the other lights," it would've made more sense.

Perhaps it's YOU who needs to lay off the ganja so you can speak English like an Englishman!

I took your advice, and I made my decisions with your advice in mind...the only problem was having to decipher what you said in order to understand what you were TRYING to say.

So far, so good. The third set of leaves has 5 "fingers" on each leaf, and the next set of leaves is coming out quite nicely.

Oh...and I also transplanted it into a 1.25 gallon container last night, and so far there have been no signs of damage. I'll keep everyone posted.

dude ok so my words might be a little jumbled from speed typing lol but the letters aint, i could actually read what u put fine lol, statistics show that if you wrgiht a wrod wtih the lettres jubmeld tehy can still be read fine by 90% of over 18's this is due to experience in reading and eventually you dont read the word but just scan it and understand as long as the first and last letters are correct.
