The S&P TD SIlent are only 4" and 5". I'd like quiet and I'd like balls

Thanks much for any thoughts.

That's what I'm finding on older threads. Vortex and Can Fan.

I have to push the air maybe 40'. One 90 elbow. Could put a second fan on the other end. One pushing and one pulling

Vortex has three series. I'll have to see what that's all about

S&P Silent Series are not that quiet. Vortex and Can Fan Max Mixed flow fans are both better options in my opinion.
I have to completely disagree!!

I have seen by my own eyes max fan 6 which is made into 6muffler.

Alao I have 2 s&p 6 inch which am sure that they are quiter.

Not as strong but sure a bit quiter.

Seems the Vortex and Can Fan Max are the most popular when reviewing a million posts

I have 6" ducting, and I see people talking about connecting 8" filters and fans. Is this efficient? Seems inefficient.

Also wondering if pairing up the filter with the fan is worth anything. Can filter and Can Fan sorta thing

I have the 6" running now. It is not as quiet as the vortex. It is not a bad fan, I just feel like a fan marketed as "silent series" should be the most quiet on the market, not just kinda quiet. Have not seen an Eclipse fan in yearsz but they used to make a quiet fan.

Can you share a picture please from the vortex you have?

Thanks

I've got both an 8 and 6 inch S&P silent version. They're expensive but with both going full bore I can't even hear them 20ft away. They are the first fans I ever bought so I don't have really any comparison but I'm sensitive to loud noise and these exceeded my expectations. Both are paired with phresh filters in a pulling mode. FYI..I got the votex silent series first and sent them back. Loud and cheaply made IMHO.

I haven't run the more expensive fans. I've been running cheap ventech fans. I have one that has been running non stop for about a year and a half. Any of the fans are not really noisy.

I mount mine on rubber bushings. The air movement is louder than the fan. Insulated duct will help that.

For the fan, you can also build a wooden box to go around the fan with foam insulation. Suspend the box from the ceiling with bungy cords.

If you do a survey of past threads on this and other forums, Vortex is about the most commonly referenced and recommended fan

So I'm not thinking they're junk, though everyone has an opinion

Not becouse everybody use them we suppose to say Yaa they are great!

For sure they are well build strong fans, but when it comes to how loud they are then yes they are big garbage.

If you ask my opinion about a quit fan I wouldnt recomment the vortex nor the can fans.perioud!

I dont know even how ppl can handle those loud fans!

I run 2x 6 inch s&p

each one of them is (sucking air through 6 inch filter and blowing in 3x600w 6inch cool tubes.

I dont hear the fans outside of my grow room and I intend to keep it like this.

Keep it safe.
