Most growers don't breed, oh sure the occasional chuck happens but most are unaware that the odds of finding good phenos are like 1 in a 100. Finding greatness is like 1 in a 1000 or even 10,000
My point is, if you can get one of the "great" cuts,,,,,,,,,, do so !!!!
And breed with it
Another trick is breeding cousins, in my many years of breeding, crossing cousins has always given me more potency

i've heard the blue cheese is a measly morsel... i've sampled some, and it is some great stuff, but i don't want to get a half crop for the sake of quality, when there are producers that will keep me and peaches supplied as we run another strain. running out early is always a problem, as street prices are insane, with teeter-top quality (good one day, not the next, never the same batch or strain). and here, they just call it ''loud'' or ''fruit''. bleh...
i always look for bud structure and heavy trich development on males. i've had males more frosty than females before, used to run 100 seeds a week (started 300 a week to pick the most vigorous), when i was running for 6+ gens inbred.Those that follow me know I'm all about the early amber trics
So what does a great male look like ?
Two weeks into flower note the tight, dense ball clusters and the amber trics on the leaves. This is an F3 of my CTF (short for Colorado Thunderfuck)

it's taken me 5 years to get that CTF to F3, I'm picky LOL in a few months I'll have some F4's
Well, al I can say is that I grew it 3 times (bad pack of seeds?) and it never impressed me , or my customers. I just found it to be not worth the space. I am happy you had success with it. my friend, but I never did. But, I say again. for an EASY plant to grow, and get great quantity, and good quality, for any level of expertise, Big Bud is a good plant.

Smaller buds, but plenty on the plant......When running 4' plants,,,say about 3 zips a plant if you now what your doing.....
