Name of my boat is white kat.
I have "katfish Charlie" engraved on my catfish rods and reels.

Biggest flat head I caught was a 30 pounder. Biggest blue cat was 48 pounds, channel cat 15 lber. All were caught on rod and reel.

I miss fishing for them.

Pretty much just go to my camp now and bass fish and bream jerk

I'm a rod and reel guy too, been wanting to head south for some big blues bc they're really sparse this far north. What state did you fish for em?

Way back in the early 90s we'd use surf rods to cast up to the lake Livingston dam for big cats 15lbrs were avg,i gotta 25lb fish and 50-60 lb fish were caught all the time ,mostly big blues and flatheads with some smaller yellow and channel cats.
