Yeah probably. Ascorbic acid only dropped the oxygen content by about 50% and it would only matter if there was no more oxygen being bubbled in. So yeah, I need not have posted that quote, since it's not a big deal anyway. However, if there's a choice between a chemical with no natural presence in plant material and vitamin C, it's a pretty easy choice for me. The aquarium water product was an interesting idea. Just turned out that there's a better alternative so why not use it?They scavenge oxygen only until the process is complete
...which is why mixing is to be done prior to putting it in your tank with fish/plants
