Are cobs worth it?

Not asking you to be my link-bitch. Asking that you consider things I say to be legit & rather then trying to find data that proves me wrong, maybe consider the opposite as I do speak from experience allot & do want to pass useful information.
The data n links you pull up are useful & sometimes are big contributions I bet. If you teamed up with some hands on knowledge then you'd be a huge info source that could be counted on.
As for Neem. No one wants to spray it on their crop. Shit happens & when it does we must find the safest alternatives for our patients. All natural plant oils is allot safer then pesticides wouldn't you say? With the entire inter web at your disposal, one would think you'd have found me a better alternative? But bashing me & telling people I pesticide my crop doesn't help me or anyone else. Geeze, it's like 4 months later & I still see you n your boy Abiqua dogging me for using Quantum Apocalypse on my bud when you'z are attempting to put me down (shoulder shrugs). I put it on at half strength too. The bud came out great as opposed to throwing out 4 lbs. like you might suggest. I smoke it to this day.

@Growmau5 , I saw you light called the Canopy! Super mad crazy PROPS! Just freaking awesome! Now, you're making me wanna build.
Probobly a dumb question that has been answered somewhere else but Do you build for others to turn a profit at all? I'm sure if you did, you'd be killing it. You are seriously talented bro!
What is Quantum Apocalypse and why I am dogging you for that. Of all the lies, this one is the best, especially after that epic, Im gonna Pout all over the Internet, epic rant.

I love, how you, one week after asking me what LED to choose, you had it all figured out and are this master grower.
AND that was like 4 months ago, loooooooool, your 4 months, my 4 months....
Shame on those, who think you have something legitimate to share other than Free Advertising.

oh, and part of the reason I stopped sharing photos and shit, was because of fuktards like you, stealing an implementing those ideas into your respective company. Do you see a Banner by my name?
Clearly you can't read.

About a pound, Spiderstyle. F.ACK .Q.

Lol! You are officially ignored by me. Others would be wise to follow suit when it comes to you & any other NG's that Harras real growers. Peace. Thank you for helping me choose my light. But now I have no use for you.

The aisle argument only underlines how flawed the comparisson in the cree ref guide is. With tables and aisles one should still not use a 1000watter at 1m distance on a 4x4' table and waste over a third of the light on open space around it. A 660/750 at a lower distance would be enough to get a similar amount of light on the 4x4'.

fyi the hortistar is specifically the reflector part. Unless you actually wanted to imply you hooked it up to something else than a gavita pro fixture.
ive gotten a little weak on my HID product knowledge and terminology. yes it was a gavita pro with that specific reflector that returned lower results than others are reporting. cheers

Figured that was what you meant, just checking because of the wattage you mentioned. It should run either 1050-ish or 1200+ (at 115% boost). Both about 30watt more with 120v input. Just curious why yours used 1150w.

DE HPS yup, SE HPS nope

I think HPS will fall out of the market, not because of how good well they grow, but because the price of cannabis is going down. for $20 we got a bag of unknown mexi, now I can get half a gram of wax or two grams of flower that has x5's the amount of THC.

in the bay area, I'm shocked buy what they sell for $7 PG: the product by a person(s) who did an excellent job. the margins get thinner, you will need to grow smarter. that and affects your whole grow. 4 can fans, down to 2, and less A/C. $/watt. the process is accelerating the grade of product is getting better the demand is higher.

this is kinda off topic: but the concentrate market is killing the jars, they not using LARF anymore, $3500lb in to shatter/wax and sold in .5's at $35

I feel like the whole reason people cant find good flower is cause its being processed in bulk. everyday I read about some explosion, the concentrates went from the small cigar displays to over half the shop in the last few years. DAB heads are killing my flowers, it makes me sad.
You could take it one step farther for that matter. And say indoor lighting and total indoor will fall off the map with complete legalization in the coming years. The prices would fall so low as not to justify the high electrical bills required to run a total indoor setup. People call me crazy because it seems so far out but i think iam rite on with it. All lighting will be for its original purpose...supplemental greenhouse lighting at best. When huge outdoor plots and greenhouses dot the country....what do you think a pound of fine cannabis will he worth? The whole reason indoor even started was because of illegality and subsequent high prices growers could get for it. Whose going to grow inside when its 100 bucks a pound? Or hell...even 500 a pound??? Price dictates everything. Even if you just grow for personal use. Think about it.

And it wont be overnight and sudden. It will be a slow die off in direct proportion to slowly.falling prices in conjunction with the passage of new legislation on a nationwide level. One could even say thats already happening.

The good news is that by then COB LED will be far cheaper, far more efficient and therefore far more capable of supporting indoor agriculture than HID is now, and even now it's economically viable for certain crops like herbs and lettuce.

The future is bright indeed for the technology we're developing right here on this forum.

Do you think when (not if) cannabis reaches "normal" agricultural crop prices it will still be grown under any total artificial lighting? Cob or otherwise? Solar powered artificial environment maybe. But then...why not just.....???

YES. Not only will cannabis prices eventually fall to production cost plus levels like any other crop, but at least some will continue to be grown indoors and with supplemental light in greenhouses.

Why am I so certain? Because other agricultural crops already are. This industry has already passed the watershed moment of becoming economically viable in certain situations. COB LED lighting will vastly expand the number of applications.

Greenhouses yes. Thats the future. Total indoors? I dont know about that one. What crops besides cannabis are grown totally indoors?

Crack open one of those magazines you get at hydro stores and they'll have articles profiling all sorts of companies starting up growing leafy greens and herbs in shipping containers with artificial light. And that's with Gavitas- imagine what's going to happen when there's some decent lighting involved!

This isn't even new, bro. Time to bone up; it's the new green revolution.
