I think I can safely a cob setup is the closest you can get with an "even" swap for hps. This is the general thought I've picked up from the indoor threads. This is what I'm getting from YALL not one person. Am I

I have 184 tw of half hi half low k CFL setup as side lighting. I wasn't so much as interested in buying that light do much as how he expected to sell it lol I have a curious mind. Lol mars unit you are talking about is it that 80 dollar rig. Basically she don't know I'm buying any more stuff so if I get caught lol I'm looking get away with just a citation rather than jail time lol
buy a six pack of the GE night Stix in the Warm White range put them in where you got yer CFL's & turn them on
you'll be impressed , there's a few threads on the stix Bobby G is the Nite Stix guy look for him in the LED section & that's the best advice than buying some wild claims by a cheap MFGer of LED's , to get in your $$$ range this is a less is better issue now than buying some unknow lite y'll regret

How many plants are you growing that you need another top light? Like I said, I did the majority of my two plants with 1 450 and no other lighting, save for the week I used the second 450.

I wanna be able to handle four shooting for the moon with damn red ryder
How big is your tent? If it's big enough, the 300 would do, and it would blend well with the lights of the other one. I dunno if I'd keep CFLs in a tent when they start growing, though. CFLs get hot enough to burn upon touch. I started out with 2 42ws.

It's a fairly large closet in a spare room I let it run how I have it set up mid day and it was 82ish after 4 hours at night she turns the air down so. I'm think 80 to 78 easy

@Walterwhiter overwhelmed yet? Lol honestly either go for a small panel of efficient led's or a small hid and just get the hang of things for the time being, Either way you go you will still need cooling its just a matter of having it all setup properly.

I get the feeling most people claiming how hot hid's are have never actually used them properly, Its wayyyyy easier to cool a hood then it is to cool a room full of lights. The plant is also less prone to radiant temp damage then it is to ambient temp damage. Hid can also drop humidity 10-30% lower.

It just sounds much more intimidating then it really is, the worst heat ive ever seen is from rooms full of spiral cfl's lol

I'm running another three hr dry run test. Waitin on seeds has given me ample time to revaluat and tweet things

3 weeks from seed before flip, sharing one light with another 4.5 foot plant (5g bucket included, 3 feet on its own from soil). So about double this amount. Fuck off.

Gee, with all that blue spectrum, I wonder why Mars can't do better. See that mass and frost? That's what a quality economy line LED does.
How much did you end up with per plant after all?

Edit: never mind you just harvested today.. ill ask again in a week, if I remember.

Sorry, i meant what lights fans ect are you testing with?
184 true watts of cfls 4 in 2000k 4in 5000k viper 450w 200true watts will round it down 370 watts for any influxs at .5g a watt 185gs thinking adding a Mars or viper 300 would hopefully give me 200g+

A little 10$ 6" clip fan and like a big ass 30" box fan blowing air in through like a 3" Crack I leave in the door and the 6" sits to where it can blow air straight out the toplace of the doorway directly

One forty wet, so somewhere in between 35 or forty grams.
I think that's pretty good for two plants under 1x 450w for 3 weeks from seed. Had I let the Blue Cheese finish properly, it would have yielded more. And then I also have awesome frosty sugar leaves for hash or edibles, too.

Now I think grams per watt is a braindead metric unless you are comparing against your own last grow, and I am not an growing snob like a lot of people here. BUT...that is about .3-.36 grams per watt? And it's supposed to be a 400W replacement. So 2oz and change from 400W replacement.

@Walterwhiter if you just ran a single 400 watter, instead of all these CFLs and cheap LEDs trying to save money, you'd be able to hit 200g+ easily in that space. It would only cost $100, would be much more efficient, and have a much smaller heat signature to boot.
