Now I think grams per watt is a braindead metric unless you are comparing against your own last grow, and I am not an growing snob like a lot of people here. BUT...that is about .3-.36 grams per watt? And it's supposed to be a 400W replacement. So 2oz and change from 400W replacement.

@Walterwhiter if you just ran a single 400 watter, instead of all these CFLs and cheap LEDs trying to save money, you'd be able to hit 200g+ easily in that space. It would only cost $100, would be much more efficient, and have a much smaller heat signature to boot.
Again, it was flipped three weeks from seed, at about 6-10" tall. That is about a week of veg. The longer you veg, the more you get, and that goes for any light. Don't be so deceitful. You're smart, so don't leave out details only an idiot or a liar would leave out of the equation. He would NOT hit 200g after flipping 3 weeks from seed.

You know what I can buy one see how the heat is if it's to bad take it back iguess

That's not what he said.

-> "you'd be able to hit 200g+ easily in that space. It would only cost $100, would be much more efficient, and have a much smaller heat signature to boot."
You could hit 200g easy in that space using the Vipar as well. But neither of them will do that after 3 weeks of veg. He's trying to be deceitful and persuasive.

I just checked after a 2hr dry run it was 85 I adjusted the opening and am using another fan. I could technically have the door wide open as I have already light proofed the the room. I'll probably get a cheap mylar blanket and put it over the doorway and just leave as on top and bottom for air movment

Light proofing isn't as important as some swear it is. As long as your genetics are good, it doesn't matter as long as you aren't hitting it with direct, radiant light. This is my light leak the entire grow, and I have had nothing herm:

Oh its pitch black in there I just don't wanna lose light from the room I wanna keep it all in there but fresh abundant air might be more benificial
You definitely want some air circulation if you can get it. Even more of a necessity if you run HIDs. Low headroom causing stagnant air and trapped heat would potentially wither your plant.

Pretty sure if I own a Mars light, could be the Mars 1? It was never branded as Mars at the time of purchase but I think it is that. I absolutely love it:

1000w, full specs are at the link. I have it in a 3x3x6'6 tent

The new Mars2 design is a bit of a shame, rounded corners and MarsHydro branding. This light has 0 branding on it, kind of weird, but a good thing.

How long have you used it?
2 growing seasons so far.

1st season, same setup, I grew tomatoes, beans etc and had the light 4ft above soil the entire grow from seed, growing 12/12

2nd season (this season) the light is 15" lower (why not?) so far vegging/blooming is great

HPS is the better choice for the price you want to pay, shoot I can sent you a 1000W HPS I snagged for the cost of shipping... It needs a new bulb but thast about it. Ive moved on to the more efficient parts of the diy... and its great. But just take a look at my signature...

Take a measurement about 3 ft out from center... the PAR is crap. Ive looked at those lights and they dont stack up in PPFD.
400w HPS would be more depleted 3 feet out. LED has better penetration. Except for 1000w, which he definitely doesn't want for his scenario. Good job not thinking contextually.

So, with 1000w of HID, you'd be paying somewhere around $2.40 a day (multiply that by 30 for a month's bill spent on lighting alone) and your heat would be next to uncontrollable. In your context.

$72 compared to $12-15 a month. Just for lighting. Plus more for AC, and with HID, you'll need odor control.
