Week 4 Update
Officially 1 month from seed. Overall she is looking healthy but on the shorter side. I would have expected to see a little more stretching.
I decided to remove the LST strings after a few days and just let the plant grow out and stretch some more. This initial LST has made the 2 main colas grow in a nice U shape creating some decent separation for now. (See picture below)
I also decided to top only the left cola. I did this mainly because I have never topped twice before and I did not want to stress the plant out too much. Also I am curious to see the different growth if I top the left half of the plant twice VS Scrog only on the right half. (See pic below)
As you can see, the left cola is topped and will eventually grow 2 more. The right I am going to grow out and just bend it down with the Scrog net. (See pic below)
That is basically how I am expecting/planning it to grow. The red representing the 2 mains and be blue being the secondaries coming off them.
Anyway, I have been refilling my bucket every few days with water and light nutes. I ordered my Carbon filter and exhaust fan. I'll keep you updated. Here is a top view to finish the update

Nice man im hoping my plants look that good. How big where they when you topped? And how will you control temps when your in 400w?

I topped at the 4th node. The plant was only maybe 5-6 inches tall. I posted a picture of it earlier in this journal.
Also, I will be installing a high power exhaust fan and carbon filter so that should circulate enough air to keep my temps down.

My PPM meter finally arrived today. I got it on eBay for $3.
I checked my reservoir and it's reading 135ppm x10. I guess that's 1350ppm.
I decided to check my tap water straight from the sink also. The tap reads 268ppm.
So I'm assuming that I don't really need to add too many extra nutrients to my tap.
What should my PPM be at during week 4-6 of veg? I'm guessing 300-400? Should I add more tap water to dilute the res?

Week 5 Update
So my plant showed some nice new growth this past week. I decided to move the DWC bucket to the right a bit in order to offset having more colas on the left than on the right. I centered the main stalk inside one of the squares of my screen and bent down all 4 colas. (See pic below)
Within a few days they all shot right back up around the screen and I'm waiting till they stretch a bit more to tuck again. (See pic below)
4 secondary colas are also growing straight up through the screen so in total I have 9 bud sites right now. Hopefully, with more tucking, I can get some more tops in the next week or so. The tops are shown in red. (See pic below)
If anyone is wondering, my screen is only 3 inches above the base of my plant. I am training the plant to literally grow horizontally. I will probably move the screen up a bit as growth continues but we shall see. (See pic below)
I'll end this update with a nice little video showing my root growth. It's amazing how fast these babies grow!

Looking good man. Im just wondering if its possible for you to get a net with a slightly smaller mesh? I promise it will be easier to work with.
Some times with larger nets you have shoots that hit a point where they are just short enough to not fit under the next hole. And they are still too tall for your liking and keeping the canopy even. I have found that smaller mesh to be the solution for this

Yeah I definitely can see this being a problem. I bought this net on eBay and didn't realize the holes were 4"x4". I'm just going to make it work for this grow. Next time I will look for a screen or net that has smaller holes. Maybe 2x2

I topped once. Then LST. Then I topped 1 of the colas a 2nd time. Not all of them. If you look back in the journal I explain my experiment/process lol

I decided to do a very small amount of pruning this morning. I removed a few fan leaves from the bottom on the plant. They were dying anyway.
Does anyone have any suggestions/opinions on lollipopping?

Everything I've read on lollipoping suggests doing it right after flowering stretch and to remove everything that doesn't make it completely through the screen.

My carbon filter and ipower exhaust fan finally came in today! I strapped it up, turned it on, and boy is it powerful! Keeps a strong suction when the tent is all zipped up. I am keeping the bottom vent open as a passive intake. I have the fan outside the tent.
My thermometer is reading 101F when the tent is all zipped up for awhile. Is there anything I can do to lower temps?

The best thing you could possibly do to get the temps down is invest in an aircooled hood.

There is much wisdom in this.... Like 25° worth of it. I made the move from wing reflector to air cooled and went from 99° to 76 comfortably with relatively shit exhaust compared to yours.
