How can excessive heat cause a hermie? How can being root bound cause a hermie. How can too little or too much water cause a hermie? Etc etc... these are all causes for hermies, according to what i read here.
As far as scientific proof that CS causes hermies...well.. where is the scientific proof that CS can not hermies?
Anyway, this isnt what this thread is about.

Okay...Ok, I can agree that I dont know if they are all good, and I do realize what you are saying about the popularity of fems increasing. They are all regs and very easy to obtain was the point I was making. Not just here in the states, but around the world.
There is no shortage of reg seeds by any means. The breeders aren't making me or even asking me to buy fem seeds. It is an option presented for folks like me who choose to run fem seeds and they are making it available to me. And on the hermie note -Out of the last 6 grows I've done, I've only had one run nanners on me and it was BOG's "Lifesaver" reg beans. Though it was likely the weather we had this summer, they nannered on me none the less and desreves to be noted in this discussion since I believe there to be relevance here. I've seen a few posts of people talking about their fems going hermie on here, and I've also seen post of people saying that adding Mountain Dew to their plant makes it awesome lol. You have to discern the difference between what is from a knowledgable grower...or just a grower. If you pull fire from regs, then by all means run what works for you. I just dont have the room to run regs since I have a plant count in my state and I value all the available space and plant count I have. I cant waste time, space,light,nutes on males on a regular basis. Doesn't mean I wont do a reg seed run from time to time and see what I can get from a strain that isnt offered in Fem seed though. Its just a matter of convenience and knowing my plant count will be utilized to its maximum from seed to harvest when I need it to.
Why have seed prices tripled i the last two years then?
More people are growing than ever before. More people are producing seeds than ever before.
But... it seems obvious to me that the amount of growers has outpaced the amount of seed producers. That is the only thing that explains the rise in prices, which apparently is following the law of supply vs demand.

Ive had both hermie on me too. Bu only twice on reg seeds...same blueberry strain... my fault for fn up the light sched. But that is two different grows out of i dont know how many dozen.
All three fem grows i tried had a hermie.
So... i hear what youre saying. Im not expert in this, but info here on this site suggests fems hermie far morenoften then regs do... so...why? Your guess is as good as mine.

Where do you get your facts and numbers from? Seeds have doubled? Show me one seed strain from the same breeder that has doubled in two years. I don't believe that's true but I can't say for sure, I know the seeds I buy have not doubled or even went up.

Yup I had reg blueberry herm as well from DP but the fems did also, took me 15 years to try one of their strains again and I was quite happy for it being an auto.

prices are the same last 6 years slightly higher so is a gallon of milk . produce a lot of it has doubled the last 5 years look at campbells soup . it used to be 50c a can and now its 1.25 to 1.50 a can .

15 dollars for a t bone OMG what is a guy to do ? when I go shop for steaks I buy one for me one for the dog he has to have his own no bone . buy one for my lady and her friends will split it . or I get forced to take them out to dinner and then I really get raped on the bill drinks apps take home a piece of pie they think I am growing money or some thing .

from my experience, if you fuck your light schedule for whatever reason (a blown timer, power outtage, etc...) fem seeds are way more likely to hermie.
I have had a lot of hermie over the years , in reg seeds growing genetics that was known or prone to but mostly with any fem seeds I have ever grown. I grew a few fem seeds recently that were strains that were only available in feminized form and I was on a bit of a strawberry phunt (new word for pheno hunt lol). Well what a disappointment, not sure if it was the breeders or the fact that they were fem seeds but LAME LAME plants, half hermied and the other half weed with no bag appeal whatsoever, total shwag. (granted I did have a timer issue but none of the reg seeds hermied, oh yeah one did, Jillybean, I have grown Agent Orange in the past and they always all hermied so I guess that was to be expected.) Nothing against TGA, but their orange strains have some issue hermiing... again, in my experience...
This is from my personal experience but I am so done with fem seeds. I am also so done with most breeders in general. So disappointing to grow a seed from start to finish and end up with total junk. I grow from seeds 95% of the time, hardly ever keep keepers so I have grown thousands of seeds and I can tell right away when a strain is junk, I dont need a pack of 10, only one or 2 females ... I will sometime give the benefit of the doubt but, why is it that all, I mean ALL, of my own seeds come out at least decent, most fire. I am at the point where I might not order seeds for a long time. Wait for the hype to become legend before I buy seeds again. Thanks to the breeders that have contributed to my awesome collection of house strains, reggae seeds, tga, bodhi, jordan of the islands, house of the great gardener, and a few other breeders that are in new projects but have yet to be tested.

yeah my dog is a rot he will eat any thing so I have to keep those bones away they will chip and cut his stomach . today he had about gallon of home made chicken noodle soup left overs minus the bones . idk how the heck he can fit it all in ?

No actually I don't shop for seeds a lot but I do look at prices and the breeders I'm looking at are not raising prices. if I make a definitive statement I know I can back it up but not seeing that here with anything stated.

Actually i didnt call fem seed grower lazy and noobs. Not even close. But that is how some have interpreted it.
I said that "fem seeds are FOR lazy noobs."
Big difference. I later clarified by explaining why i said this... that seed producers target the lazy and the noobs with the conveneience in their product.
