The Obama Doctrine

Hey, from where I'm standing- you shouldn't obey any law you don't agree with, just be ready to face the consequences for standing your ground. Civil disobedience, more people should exercise it. =)

Civil Disobedience is what made this country. Think Boston Tea party. Man if those tea throwers could see the state of things today, they'd be pissed !

Brave New World was written in 1932..

It really is a great read- I'd suggest it to anyone...

The soma situation in that book also is exactly where we are going with the psychological drugs as well...

I don't think Vi was referring to it as an answer to 'real life problems'.. but merely as a mirror reflection to where we are heading..
Exactly right, MILF ... but not so much as to where we are heading, but what we are experiencing at this exact moment. I've posted the pictures of the result of abortions, and yet, we look at them with eyes glazed over and remain stone-blind to the reality of the situation. I chalk this up to the brain washing that's taken place since Roe vs Wade. In my honest opinion, if we can so callously rid ourselves of the inconvenience of an unwanted human life in the womb, how soon will we apply that non-thinking to other inconvenient life? At what point do we say to grampa and grama that our medical system can't afford them anymore?

Sarah Palin brings a fresh look at the situation ... and it is scaring the bejezzes out of the secular left.

I hear you Vi.. look at how many senior citizens are shipped off to nursing homes because they're too much of a burden to their family..

The value of family itself is deteriorating at alarming rates..

The value people put on life these days sickens me..

And that's my whole point about abortion at will. Eventually, the nursing homes will be obsolete ... the "new way" is in the future.

Sarah Palin holding her Down's Syndrome baby says a lot to me about she and her husband's values. Its one of the reasons she's getting my vote.

Isn't it sad that in this world it's commendable to keep your imperfect child? ugh..

I still question why she got the test during pregnancy to test for down syndrome- the test itself has a 3-5% chance of miscarriage. Then to go back to work 3 days after the birth.. just off to me...

But seriously.. I'm getting sick of hearing about how 'before the baby is born it's not a life'.. I'm 16 weeks pregnant right now and just started feeling the baby tickling me.. =) The miracle of life in the womb is amazing, most of these people has no clue what they're talking about... I also find it interesting how the mothers here who are pro-choice all kept their children..

And just WTF does this have to do with the Obama doctrine? There was a thread about abortion "ViRedd", I believe you started it. Are you going to assault every thread with your Christian bullshit. Hey I May believe, but I sure as hell don't need the likes of you schooling me on Christianity, you the great Christian benefactor, what a fucking joke. Keep your abortion views, (For that is what they are) to yourself or post them in the abortion thread, thank you.

Uhhh, why is it called the Obama doctrine then? OK, I apologise, I went back and read the first post. I hardly see how this relates to the Obama doctrine though. I apologise to redd also, buty only for jumping in the thread without reading the opener, Geeze, you stay away for a couple a hours and new threads pop up and have 30 comments. Still, this far fetched from the Obama doctrine.

Gee, thank you Mr. forum moderator who lives in his ivory tower. Please point out to me where I have mentioned the word "Christian" in any post in this thread. You won't find it. What you WILL find, if you read between the lines, is that I am Pro-Human.

I suspect that you're getting frustrated by the ban on personal attacks. May I suggest that you go bat the wife around a little bit, or go kick the cat to ease the tension? :blsmoke:

I don't know why both parties are even caught up on the entire abortion issue. It's just the symptom of a larger issue. No one wants to accept responsibility for their own actions.

I think I already stated my view on abortion. It's not my right to interfere in the choice of any one else, or in the life of any one else.

I'm not interested in adopting some one's child that they didn't want, and thus I don't and shouldn't have any say over if they get an abortion or not. Now, I can understand where some one is coming from with saying if it was their child they'd be against abortion, but that is between them and their partner, not them and everyone else.

I think it was stoney who summed it up, best.

Everyone needs to mind their own f*king business, including, and especially, the government.

I agree with you on this. However, I belive that most abortions are done for convenience sake ... and that, to me, is horrendous. So ... while I don't picket or bomb abortion clinics, I DO try to change one mind at a time though persuasion. That's my right as well. :)
