you support policies that encourage pumping more money into politics.
What policies do I support that encourage pumping more money into politics?
You support making the government stronger to do things like promote income equality and force your political agenda which will make the government what decides who wins and who loses.
How do you reconcile this belief with my many different criticisms I have of the Obama administration? To the point where multiple moderate members of RIU have claimed I'm "alt-right"? Not them.. rofl. Sanders is left of Clinton. I supported Sanders, yet I'm "alt-right"? How's that work?

You claim I'm far left, other idiots claim I'm far right. Seems both of you haven't grasped the political spectrum.

In a system like you want those with money are forced to try to influence politics.
How?

Lol. It was a rough year.

Look to the future, stay true to your core values, and hope for the best. 2018 and 2020 are right around the corner.

You claim to hate money in politics yet you favor policies that encourage those with money to become involved in politics.

We had a very weak federal government in the beginning. If we still had that today there woukd be no need for those with money to throw money at it.

Look someone looking at one post you make might say that. But your overall position is leftist. You criticize the Obama administration because he does things sometimes that are not inline with the far left.

C'mon man. No one is ever going to 100% agree with anyone. You can't say because you disagree with a left wing president that makes you a moderate. Obama has had to govern with a Republican Congress. He can't get anything leftist done.

Dude, that may be true, but where you're wrong is that you are equally a sheep and not capable of the critical thought required to achieve your goals. You operate on your feelings of what ought to be. Feelings are rational. And facts aren't subject to opinion.

You support Sanders for things like ending money in politics. Yet you support policies that encourage pumping more money into politics.

You support making the government stronger to do things like promote income equality and force your political agenda which will make the government what decides who wins and who loses.

In a system like you want those with money are forced to try to influence politics.

In a system like what I would favor there would be no need to put money into politics.
It isnt his fault that nobody taught him critical thinking and few people are presenting this opinion.

You cannot get money out of politics without getting power out of politics. Prohibition never works. At best you would get the honest money out making the politics more corrupt and dishonest because the crooked politicians would have the advantage of more money.

Government is best when it is minimal and decentralized. If you remove the power then the money automatically goes away.

I can show you evidence that large companies that tried to stay neutral and became targets for political attacks (microsoft) until they start paying the bribes demanded by both sides of the political aisle.

You seem to have this idea that political ideology is pure. Because you support Sanders you are on the left. How simple and naive, also narrow. You support the things that Sanders' proposed that benefited you. Such as universal healthcare, perhaps forgiveness of student debt, maybe increasing the minimum wage. Also, you are against unlimited campaign donations that give others an advantage over you. It's perfectly reasonable that you would support policies that benefit you.

Then again, you are very conservative in your social views as demonstrated by your railing against social justice and efforts to mitigate past wrongs. From you railing against "social justice warriors", you seem troubled by policies and social pressures that don't elevate you over minorities in ways that were normal in the past. That's perfectly reasonable too. It's very common for people to want to protect social institutions that help them succeed.

You are early in your working life and over time, you are likely to gain in income and economic security. Maybe you won't do as many have done in the past and become a turncoat fiscal conservative to match your current socially conservative attitude.

"Very conservative in your social views", like how I support equal rights for LGBT people, or equal pay for women, or social equality among racial and economic classes. What I don't support is suppression of free speech because somebody might be offended, or the idea that there are dozens of different genders, or that minorities or people of color can't be racist. You and Buck and the SJW wing of the Democratic party, the people who only seem to care about identity politics are a big part of the reason Republicans mopped the floor with Democrats this election. Millions of middle-class Democrats do not care about identity politics, they care about the economy, jobs, healthcare, etc.

Like I told someone else, all of us who frequent the politics section pretty much know where each of us sit, so rehashing reasons why with different people isn't something that interests me. We'll see what direction the Democratic leadership decides to take the party, I think if they keep pushing corporatist Democrats like Clinton, they'll lose, you don't. Buck even supports Perez for DNC chair. If they shift to a more progressive platform, they'll win. We'll see which one of us is right in a few years. I think unless Ellison is elected, that's pretty much it for the Democratic party, progressives will leave and won't come back.

hillary was literally 1 point away from winning 310 EVs.

she was 4 point away from winning 350 EVs.

the comey letter dropped her numbers by 4 points alone.

you are dumb.

You are the one who rails against politically correct culture. Not me. You might even have a black friend who helps you get your molly, I don't know or care. I'm just responding to things you've said. You've said everything needed to show you are socially conservative about certain issues. According to you, political correctness will keep Democrats out of office for the rest of the millennium. And so, we should avoid "identity politics".

Identity politics is only about minority groups, right? Not the poorly educated block of white semi-racists who voted as a group to bring in Trump. As if Evangelists aren't voting as a group.

Identity politics is nothing more than people with common interests banding together in their interests.

People have been banding together in their common interest for longer than Homo sapiens has been around. It's not a new thing. Maybe for the candy assed Bernie boys it is.

Pretty easy to see why, Obama campaigned on 'Hope & Change' then delivered the exact same kind of corporate-crony capitalism the Bush administration did and accomplished very little to show for the middle-class that supported him

People don't want incrementalism

ok, let's break this down.

YOU: "republicans CRUSHED hillary!!!! OMGZ"

ME: "not really, she was 1 point away from 310 EVs"

YOU: "take a look at this totally unrelated distraction that has nothing to do with hillary!!!!! DUCT TAPE ANAL SPREADS!"

as always, you have nothing.

you haven't even mentioned all the mainstream media people in attendance at trump's NYE party either. it's been several days now. it took you less than 24 hours to hang hillary over less when wikileaks reported it.

go vote for trump. you deserve trump.

Take a valium and go to bed. You've lost it. "exact same..capitalism Bush did". That statement is devoid of facts. Your willingness to hold feelings over facts makes you weak.

I said Hillary Clinton's focus on identity politics during the election was partially responsible for the loss, the other part being abandoning the middle-class

Like I said, you keep supporting moderate, corporatist Democrats, I'll keep supporting actual progressives, and we'll see who wins

I'm not going to argue with you and others about this anymore

if not for the comey letter, we'd be talking about how brilliant her strategy was that gave her a 6 point poular vote win and 310 EVs.

you did that in the primary and lost by 4 million votes.

So her supporters turned their backs on her because of that letter? What a bunch of dumbfucks.

I said "Republicans mopped the floor with Democrats this election.", and they did, they won the presidency and kept control of the congress which also gives them control of the Supreme Court probably for the next generation at least. Republicans have 2/3 of state governorships and the majority of state legislatures. Democrats have steadily been losing power since 2009 at a higher rate than is normal for incumbent presidents according to Politifact.

Seeing as how the American people are largely progressive when it comes to the actual issues, this would seem somewhat paradoxical.. Until you actually understand why. The Democratic party abandoned the middle-class because they've largely sold out to corporate interests. Both parties are controlled by corporate interests, the Democratic party just happens to be more socially liberal. When it comes to economics, campaign finance reform, raising the corporate tax rate, regulating the financial industry, both parties are virtually identical.

That's true. You said those things. As if people shouldn't vote as a group. And politicians shouldn't listen to them. A totally ridiculous idea but that is what you said. Clinton did not lose because she listened to large and important groups in the Democratic party base. She lost because she couldn't attract independent voters in middle america. But she didn't lose by much and you aren't really all that progressive.
